Do Not Mess With Fish 281,

and you thought fish were fun!

photograph Frank Shafer/Shoal, well this chappie looks like fun for fish keepers around the world, he is just one of the new or undescribed 212 freshwater fish described in 2021 by Shoal, which is the global initiative to halt extinctions and recover populations of the most threatened freshwater species around the world. It is hosted by Synchronicity Earth and Re:wild, you can see more of Shoal and their work at shoalconservation.org. for the full article in Shoal have look here, as it happens reading the article reminded me of when way back Neil and myself were looking for new fish for the aquatic trade in north west Indian,

me hard at work,

more hair then!

well just a little,

and this was the chap I was photographing, but alas,

like these we 'found' at other locations,

were already known to science, but back to the original article, just when you would think an area has been fully examined new species are still there to be found, great job all of those at and helping Shoal.
