There Is A Tradition In Japan,

that goes back over 280 years as a means of warding off epidemics,

photographs Asobixotome, the letting off of fireworks, whilst many displays are just huge, there is an unspoken rule among smaller gatherings, fireworks should always end with senko hanabi, literally meaning ‘incense fireworks,’ these small and subtle sparklers are packed with about 10 seconds of delicate pyrotechnics,

with this in mind an accessory maker that specializes in creating playful acrylic accessories decided to make two styles of earrings in the form of delicate firework burst, senko hanabi earrings are handmade by asobi x otome,

the earrings are currently available in two styles, matsuba and botan

to compliment the earrings a traditional headpiece worn with yukata or kimono has been made, known as a kanzashi

the pieces range between 2,500 -- 4,500 yen and are made-to-order at today’s rate £13.62 or $17.31 -- £24.52 or $31.15, now the bad news, the downside, they are unfortunately only available in Japan but you can also enjoy their work through Twitter or Instagram, I guess if you want to have these earrings you might need a friend in japan to send them to you, the upside, outside of Japan I doubt if anyone else on your street will be wearing them!
