It Came Up For Sale, It Was Sold,

and I missed it!
arguably the best known car in the worlds went under the hammer at Battersea Evolution in London by RM Auctions, together with Sotheby's, the James Bond's Aston Martin, it was thought the the car bought by American broadcasting boss Jerry Lee who bought the 1964 car for $12,000 in 1969, would have gone for £3.5million, but it made just £2.6million, it took just four minutes and two bids, before the car went to Ohio property tycoon Harry Yeaggy, the car was made fanous Sean Connert in the Goldfinger and Thunderball movies,

and what do you get for the money? a 282hp, four-litre straight-six engine starts instantly, makes a hard, loud howl when worked, and provides acceleration that still feels fairly urgent by modern standards, as you drive, your thumb keeps flipping up the lid that covers the ejector seat trigger in the gearknob; fortunately for your passenger, it’s one of the few gadgets that doesn’t work,

Mr Lee has said he plans to donate the proceeds from the sale to his charitable foundation, He said previously: ‘The James Bond car has brought me much enjoyment for some 40 years, even as I sell it and use the proceeds to fund the Jerry Lee Foundation, the car will continue to give me great pleasure as it furthers the mission of the foundation to do good around the world.’ Mr Lee set up his foundation more than 10 years ago to support education and anti-crime projects internationally,

the model was dubbed Most Famous Car in the World in a 1993 book of the same title by Dave Worrall, I will just have to wait again, cheque book in hand in case the new owner wants to sell it again!
