Looking Through The Papers,

there was a lot happening, but nothing that we found interesting, amusing or just plain weird, so straight on to the post, we watched a few DVD's during the day but for our evening meal it was off to The Royal Indian Hut,
starters of onion bhaji's, they are so delicious the way they are made here, 'Cheers!' from both of us,
we also ordered chicken tikka massala and chicken vindaloo along with rice, then home to watch a few more DVD's,
in the afternoon we watched a 1912 'whodunit?' the Piltdown Man, when workers digging in a gravel pit near Piltdown, England in 1912 discovered a collection of bones, the scientific world was turned on its head, for the apparently ancient remnants seemed to be the so-called "missing link" between apes and humans, many theories about the identity of the con-artist responsible-- the list includes Sherlock Holmes's creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, nearly a century later, the answer still remains unclear,
Hang 'Em High saw Jed Cooper and, incorrectly believing him guilty of cattle rustling and murder, a gang hang him and leave him for dead, bad mistake! a pre spaghetti western for Clint Eastwood,
then a strange one, Carnival of Souls, I have to say for us it was a film for that had little story, with no real thread to bind the scenes together and an ending that had both of us looking at each other say, 'what was that all about?' on the other hand Diana found it really scary in places, but in truth I expected to see it was directed by Ed Wood!
next a couple from series 3 of Only Fools And Horses, Homesick and Healthy Competition, we have both found these so funny even though I have seen many of them before,
another couple from Black Books, we are both getting into the characters now and the series is getting funnier at each new episode, tonight The Blackout, Bernard recalling a disastrous dinner party, been there, done that! it looks like we are only going to watch 18 episodes as that is all that is listed, as an aside I really think that the accompanying music is so early Ego Plum, say from Anthology of Infection, Vol. 1, I was surprised to find out that it was not composed and played by the Ebola Music Orchestra, but by, the credits state, Jonathan Whitehead, but the style is so similar,
in the post today I received the above from Davenports in London, if you looked at our visit to the UK we called into Davenports magic shop last year, it was established in 1898 by Lewis Davenport, and is the oldest family run magic business in the world, we picked up Volume 2, I had already picked up Volume 1 the year before, well the good news is that Volume 3 is out so we have just put our order in for it, so we are looking forward to seeing that, the next time one of our friends visiting us has enough space and weight allowance to bring it over for us, then with that we were off to bed.
