I Have Heard Of This Happening In The USA,

I have watched it happening to Homer in a episode from the Simpson's,

but this is the first sting of this kind I have seen in the UK, typically criminals who have evaded arrest and are hard to track down are sent a sweetener, say the key to a car they arrive at the garage to see if the key fits to win the car and are arrested by the police! in Homers case he thought he was going to win a boat,

but police in Derybshire knew their criminals well, so when Pcs Andy Clare and Steve Browett (above), sent out letters from a marketing company to collect a free crate of beer 19 suspects rang the number from the company to arrange to have the beer dropped off at their homes and were then arrested, Chief Inspector Graham McLaughlin, who is leading the operation, said: 'these suspects are people who have managed to evade arrest for some time so we have used different tactics to find them', those arrested are alleged to have committed offences including burglary, robbery and serious sexual assault, I suppose the same thing might work for corrupt MPs, but then it would have to be a crate of champagne!
