Another One Of Those Days When I Did Not Take A Single Picture,

we just spent the day indoors,

playing a few games of cards, I also spent some time bidding for a few stamps on E-Bay, Mark also called round to say Hi, but during the day we watched a number of DVDs, the first was from the Biography Channel, Buffalo Bill Cody, after many exploits in the West he found he was a household name in the East, putting a show together he thrilled over 70 million people around the world, but towards the end of his life through mismanagement he lost the fortune he had made in show business, His last public appearance was at Portsmouth, Va., just two months before his death,

Great Wonders Of The Modern World featured Tower Bridge, which was part of a 8 DVD set, it was amazing to see that there were 6 different fail safe systems in place to open and close the bridge, a really enjoyable programme,

these guys have all the luck! everything they touch seems to turn to gold, in this episode of Treasure Quest a cargo of lead ingots worth about $30 an ingot turns out to be a special low alpha lead worth $300 a ingot, nice one!

neither fish nor fowl just about sums this DVD up, Antarctica, great images, so so music, appalling narration, even worse spelling on the subtitles, I have to say from the images if the quality was kept up it could have been twice as long the filming was so good, but for everything else turn the volume down and listen to a piece of music you like,

to round the evening off a surprise treat, I had bought this on a bit of a whim, at £9.99 not cheap but there were a few actors that I recognised in it and it had a good write up, called The Pillars of the Earth the story revolves around the building of a magnificent Cathedral in Kingsbridge, hardly riveting stuff I know which is what I was thinking when I bought it, but what a treat! we watched the first 5 episodes back to back, in all the run time is over 6 hours for all 8 episodes, if you liked The Tudors this will be a real pleasure to watch too, then for us off to bed.
