was the thought of the Shenadoah Valley resident who purchased it for just $7.00 at a flea market, but after receiving advice from Virginia auction house Potomack Company, specialists there became convinced the painting was genuine and referred it the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. which confirmed their opinion it was a genuine lost Renoir painting, dated from the late 1870's the painting by Pierre-Auguste Renoir is entitled 'Paysage Bords de Seine' and the small pastel coloured river scene painting is 5.5 inches high and 9 inches long,
after researching the painting she found that it was purchased from the Bernheim-Jeune gallery in France in 1925 and sold to Herbet May, the husband of Sadie A. May, a Maryland collector of art, but the new owner has no idea how the artwork found its way to a Shenandoah Valley flea market, next question, how much is it worth? it is going to auction in late September where it is expected to go for $75,000 to $100,000, good luck or what!
