On The Way Back,

we stopped off at a flower/plant show,

which was a delight,

the very first stall we came to when we parked up had a display of bananas,

there were lots of stalls with goods and plants for sale,

and fresh produce as well,

soon the girls were off for a shopping fest,

there was so much to chose from,

even bonsai trees,

this one for 2,500 baht,

there was also a coconut show,

each bunch being given marks,

naturally there were clothes stalls there as well,

the plants also interested some of the local monks who were looking around as well,

oh no! more clothes,

Diana decided on a hair grip,

lots to chose from,

then back to the plant/livestock section,

there was also a aquatic stall as well,

along with chickens,

and goats,

I never really thought about farming goats over here, but it must be popular, for cheese I assume,

I could not wait any longer,
we just had to go and look at the orchids,

it was a huge show,

so many colours,

they all looked so nice,

I just could not stop taking pictures of them,

different shapes as well,

there was a large display in the centre of the area,

but first we made our way around the individual plants,

so many nice flowers to take pictures of,

again the variety,

of shapes,

and colours,

in so many different combinations,

even to an almost totally white one,

another type of orchid,

so many to look at,

in the next section the same type and colour were displayed on straw bales,

Diana strikes the pose,

surrounded by white orchids,

the show as I mentioned before was huge, but surprisingly few people were here, still I guess being Monday many were at work,

which meant that Diana was the only one in the frame,

there she is!

a close up of the ones Diana was hiding behind,

then back to the main display,

and beautiful it looked too,

it must have taken days to prepare,

the good news was that there were lots of plants for sale,

I was so tempted to buy a few but resisted,

but Brian and Sa were buying a few things,

we had parked in a bit of rough ground, in getting out I found the only piece of reinforced concrete hidden by grass in the whole field, at first it was not a problem but after some time it was getting a bit sore, hopefully by tomorrow it will not be a problem,

we started to make our way back to the car park,

Diana just had to try on a pair of sunglasses,

only 50 baht, a bargain!

as were the 3 small house brooms for 100 baht,

there were lots of stalls selling ornaments, like theses,

all of the ones on this stall recycled,

the writing still on the flower petals,

we next came across this stall,

they were selling plants that produce really strange looking flowers,

whilst I had seen similar before these were all new to me,

they looked so unreal,

they could almost have been made in wax,

having said all of that I had seen these before,

in case any one wants to buy some this is the stalls banner with their telephone number,

we were now nearing the end of the show,

but I had to take a picture of these, coconut trees for the vertically challenged,

I had seen these before and thought what a great idea, the trees are fully matured but stay small for easy cropping, perfect for Diana, it is just a pity we do not have a garden big enough to grow some,

on the way back I had just started a beer, the problem was it was a block of ice inside the bottle, so every few seconds I had to slurp it as the foam came over the top of the bottle as the ice turned back into beer, then at just that moment in time Phil called from the UK, so all he could hear was me slurping away trying to tell him what I was doing, sorry about that Phil, speak to you tomorrow,

I pictured a jack fruit when we were fishing, well Diana took this picture of a load of them going to market, so the one I photographed has a bit of growing to do,

next over the bridge,

the other bridges in the distance,

a wish as we go past the lucky elephant, then home to 388, we all had a great day out and many thanks to all, for us it was feet up to watch this weeks new additions of Pawn Stars, Kings of restoration, Pickers etc, then as we have an early start tomorrow we were off to bed.
