First Thing,

we were off fishing,

but first I wanted to follow some advice from Alex, so we were off to the shop that Nick buys his swimming pool supplies from,

at the front of the house a type of moss has started to grow on the drive/walk way, so he suggested some chlorine that is used in swimming pools might kill it, well it was worth a try so off we went,

the shop is almost at the top of Soi Siam Country Club Road where the reservoir is, it is on the left hand side going towards the reservoir almost opposite this builders merchants,

and this new building, the choline granules were 100 baht a kilo, so I bought 2 kilos, tomorrow I will mix some up and see if it kills the moss,

for our fishing trip today again we went to the Mamak Fishing Park, it is off of Soi Nub Plan Wan, (spelt as it sounds), turn into the soi from Sumkivitt, over the railway crossing and continue for a couple of miles, the road starts to go downhill, near the bottom of it you will see this pink building on the left, the road the fishing park is in is almost opposite, follow that for a while and the fishing park is on the left,

we all commented how well we were looked after by the staff at the park,

so if you fancy sitting bu a pool hopefully trying to capture one for the pot this place is the best we have found so far,

 back to our trip,

we sat in one of the huts and tackled up,

then from out of nowhere this cat appeared,

the cat seemed totally fearless of Ta-Taa,

it just laid there looking at Ta-Taa,

 who was also not commenting,

a couple of beers for Nick and Maureen, coffee for me,

 and a water for Diana,

since our last trip here some more fungi had grown,

but another month or so and the worst of the rainy season should be over so I guess the fungi will die out then,

also a different type of growth had appeared on the coconut log next door,

 looking slightly different,

Ta-Taa was being underwhelmed at the antics of the cat as it left,

 but she became alert again,

and looked like she wanted to play,

with the cat that had returned,

but this time the cat was more interested in my truck,

then I caught the first fish, it was smaller than it looked, so back it went,

Diana had ordered some Thai food as she was hungry, for us Maureen had made some cheese straws to nibble on,

then I was into my first keeper,

Nick helped with the landing net,

and it was in the bag,

during the day I had the uncomfortable feeling I was being watched, then I saw him on the other side of the lake, complete with rod and sun hat, so I zoomed in on him,

a Thai Sasquatche, but this one was clever, unlike all of the other pictures and videos of them this one was not running away from the camera, he was staying still, hoping I guess that by not moving he would not be noticed, so for Sasquatche hunters this picture proves three things, first they can use tools, the fishing rod, second, they prefer the shade, he/she was wearing a sunhat, thirdly and probably most important of all they eat fish! all of these scientific discoveries made by casual observation, not bad for an afternoons fishing,

but back to the fishing, another for the pot,

 so we had two keepers,

the sky started to cloud over, but luckily the rain held off,

the cat came back again and decided to torment Ta-Taa,

by walking under our fishing rods,

then to make Ta-Taa's day complete another cat arrived,

the same as the first, this cat had no fear of Ta-Taa at all,

in fact one of the staff took it away as it was relying on Ta-Taa's good nature not to bite it!

more rain clouds were coming in as the wind sifted,

Diana spent some time feeding the birds, but unlike the cats at the slightest movement they legged it,

all to soon it was time to go, the score 3 - 0 to me, but we only took 2 home, if you fancy a bit of fishing this is the place to try, rods and bait are available for hire and I am told the beer is cold!

we arrived back at Nick and Maureen's just as we went into the garden I had a look at these,

Maureen had grown them from seeds, they were Desert rose (Adenium obesum) plants, available in many colours they thrive on neglect, which is why our one was doing so well, till we let the caterpillar eat it, but it is recovering now,

the cats and fishing were all too much for Ta-Taa,

Maureen had prepared a huge roast for us all,

I allowed myself one beer as I would be driving later,

for dessert cheese and biscuits for me, ice cream for Diana,

we then had our usual game of Monopoly, looking at the picture there is no prizes for guessing that I won, it is a really enjoyable game even more so as in the Central Festival where we bought it they sell not only the Thai and American version but the English one too, all to soon it was getting late so we said our goodbyes to Nick and Maureen and thanked them for looking after us so well, then home to 388,

no sooner had we arrived home than the heavens opened up,

I was almost thinking we might get flooded again like last year, but mercifully the rain started to slacken off, we watched a few of the series we like on satellite, (when it started working again, rain = no signal), then for us we were off to bed.
