The Bridge Over The River Seven,

looked so lovely when it's hanging baskets were in flower,

but no longer will the tourists and people of Bridgnorth, Shropshire be allowed to admire them, there is nothing remarkable about the bridge apart from the hanging baskets, but town council officials have deemed that due to Health & Safety fears one could fall and hit one of the canoeists who paddle under the bridge on the head,

a spokesperson for Sun Valley Canoeing, which has run canoe trips on the River Severn since 1988, said: 'the area is very popular with canoeists, I would say maybe 10 a day go under the bridge on a week day and more on the weekend depending on the weather and the level or strength of the river', well thanks to Town Council clerk Anne Wilson who said about the councils decision to remove them, 'Shropshire Council has decided they might not be safe,' so the canoeists can now paddle in complete safety,
the new look bridge, the ruling may well have an impact on many business in the area, take Sykes Holiday Cottages rentals they will have to change their advertisement to rent a Bridgnorth Cottage which reads and I quote, 'Follow the town trail and admire the floral displays - this town has won numerous awards for its colourful pots and hanging baskets', I guess they will now have to say except the ones that are missing from the bridge!, your local council, working for you.
