"You Have Got To Be Joking!',

was my first thought,

when I saw pictures of the Dachstein Sky Walk, the freshly inaugurated suspension bridge near the town of Schladming leads to fourteen steps down a cliff, ending on a glass platform that highlights vertigo-inducing views of the mountain landscape below, the thought of of hovering above a 400-meter (1,300-foot) drop given my fear of heights just dos not bear thinking about,

the 100-meter-long bridge, which opened on Wednesday after six months of construction, is the highest in Austria, according to the resort, technical director Karl Höflehner, who oversaw this spectacular project, is delighted with the outcome, 'I am absolutely delighted that we managed to reach agreement with the nature conservation authority, which means that all visitors to the Dachstein can now experience the breathtaking sensation of being suspended above the rock face as they gaze over the Alps', the "stairway to nothingness" makes for an even more exciting experience, a total of 14 steps lead down onto a glass platform four hundred metres directly above the foot of the rock face, I hate to say it, but do not look for me in the queue to go there!
