We Were Up Early,

and going fishing,

we picked up Nick and Maureen and arrived at the fishing park,

the pressure was on to catch the first fish, Diana had not eaten breakfast,

we settled down after dropping the fish a line,

 and waiting for a reply,

in the distance lots of clouds and the rumble of thunder,

we then had a slight problem the park could not cook any fish or serve hot drinks, I guess whoever had the keys to the kitchens had not arrived, but the good news was that Nick had baked a Welsh overnight cake, so called because, yes you guessed it! part of the recipe is that you leave it overnight, so we tucked into that which although being made with out sugar was really very tasty and sweet,

then first fish of the day, normally we would have eaten this one, but we put it in the net to take home with us,

 then for me a second,

regrettably although a good fighter too full of bones to eat, so back he went,

 then Nick's first,

 another keeper,

one of the food carts called by,

as Diana was still a tad hungry she ordered a few things on sticks,

 another for me,

but again not a nice one to eat so he was returned, the score now was 4-1 to me so I began to feel quietly confident, but by the time we came to the forlorn hope, (it is the name we give to the last cast of the day when we both bait up and cast at the same time), Nick had staged a come back, the score ending at 8-7 to Nick,

if you want to fish here it is the Mamak fishing park, it is off of Soi Nub Plan Wan, (spelt as it sounds), turn into the Soi from Sumkivitt, over the railway crossing and continue for a couple of miles, the road starts to go downhill, near the bottom of it you will see the road the fishing park is on the right hand side, follow that for a while, it twists and turns a bit and the fishing park is on the left next to a soccer ground, there are rods and tackle for hire and bait to buy, plus a fridge full of beer!

then back to Nick and Maureen's for our evening meal,

a chicken curry topped with fresh herbs, followed by cheese and biscuits and ice cream,

then on to Monopoly, well no prizes for guessing the outcome, I won, we thanked Nick and Maureen for their hospitality and made a move for home, then feet up for a few films on TMN and we were off to bed.
