Tuesday,

was another quiet day for us,

although in the afternoon Mark called round for a tea and a chat, after he left, it was then time for a look at The Search for the Nile, we had planned to watch just two of the six episodes, but we were soon hooked and watched all six of this excellent BBC mini series, the sets, costumes and storyline based on facts, were as good as it gets, if you are interested in this area of exploration a real treat, one that we both enjoyed,

during watching the series we had our evening meal, and then another real treat, The Fall and Rise Of Reginald Perrin, a comedy series so funny it made us both laugh repeatedly, disillusioned after a long career at Sunshine Desserts, Reginald Iolanthe Perrin goes through a mid-life crisis and fakes his own death, the series and for that matter the actor Leonard Rossiter that plays the lead seems to divide opinion, either you love him and the series, or hate both, there seems to be no middle ground, we all come under the former rather than the latter, I have to say also that for me Doc Morrissey was a real gem, below is a typical dialogue when Reggie goes to see the company doctor as Reggie is unwell,

Doc:
I say, your ticker's racing like the clappers. Not surprising, really. (Doc sits down). Do you find you can't finish the crossword like you used to, nasty taste in the mouth in the mornings, can't stop thinking about sex, can't start doing anything about sex, wake up with a sweat in the mornings, keep falling asleep during 'Play For Today'?
Reggie:
That's extraordinary, Doc! That's exactly how I've been feeling.
Doc:
So have I. I wonder what it is? Take two aspirins

the series aired on British television in 1976–1979, alas a comedy series that in this day and age could no longer be made, especially with lines like these, this another exchange between Doc Morrissey and Reggie,

Doc Morrissey: Had any dreams about naked sportswomen?
Reginald Perrin: As a matter of fact I have. Only last night, I dreamed I was watching the Whiteman Cup at Wimbledon. Everyone was naked. Even the line judges.
Doc Morrissey: Who won?
Reginald Perrin: To be honest, I didn't much bother with the scores. I think it was the ones with the very big, er, first serves.

and with the end of 4 episodes of Reggie, we were off to  bed.
