We Started The Day Shopping,

we were getting low on walnuts,

we parked in the Friendship carpark, just opposite one of the entrances to the Soi Bukaow market,

considering it was a Saturday the car and motorcycle parks were almost empty,

work on the building next door continues,

the shrine looking very impressive after its clean up a couple of weeks ago,

I made my way into the main building,

whilst Diana popped into the catering supplies building next door, the walnuts we buy are normally in a large catering pack, but for the last few visits the only packs available have been in the family sized packs, which contain less in weight and cost a lot more, in case you are wondering why we eat walnuts here are a couple of articles that will explain why better than me, this one from the BBC, and this one from Organic Facts, and if you find anywhere that sells walnuts in catering packs, a half, one or two kilos, please let us know, and to save you looking Tesco Lotus does not!

on the way home we stopped for a couple of ice drinks to take home, a tea and a coffee, and noticed the the front headlamp had stopped working, both high and low beams,

 and this was the culprit,

so a new bulb holder was fitted,

and by a strange quirk of fate the rear bulb was blown too, so that was replaced, next on the list the bike does not charge the battery so as we were here the battery was given a quick charge, tyres pumped up, and 50 baht later we were on our way home,

in the evening it was glad rags on,

as it is not possible to make our usual Saturday evening bar-b-q in the condominium, we have a meal out,

so down to Dongtan Beach for a walk to the restaurants,

we then decided to take a short cut, which avoids walking in the road, and were amazed at the size of some of the condominiums,

we walked through this pedestrian only precinct,

what was also amazing was that every single one of these units were empty, but they all had one thing in common, each had a 'For Rent' sign in the window,

and all of these as well,

we were then in the main road passing the condominium shrine,

where a gentleman had stopped with his chicken, to let him, the chicken, have a rummage around in the plants, yes I know strange, but true,

as was the sight of a sleeping parrot on the handlebars of the gentlemans motorcycle,

we made our way to the restaurant, I forgot to take a picture of it from the outside so I will do that when we leave, we fancied an Indian meal so as this is our nearest Indian, so we stopped here, it is called the New Indian Restaurant, on Thappraya Road, the part of it that leads to the beach about midway between the traffic lights and the arch that goes over the road,

 for starters,

a masala poppadom each, we went with the fried version at 120 baht for 2,

'Cheers! I went with a very reasonably priced bottle of red at 530 bhat,

for our starts we ordered dry fried chicken,

 and onion bhajees,

 on to our main course,

 chicken tikka masala,

 chicken dopiaza,

along with peas pulao rice, and here was a nice touch, pieces of onion were added to it which made it rather special,

ourmeal over, it was time for a pose, this is the view of the inside and outside seating area,

and if you are walking along the street, this is the sign to look for, it is no secret that of all of the Indian restaurants that we have tried over the years, of the ones that are still open Ali Baba is our favorite, but this is a surprisingly close second, the meal including water for Diana came to 1,610 bhat, (at today's rate, £36.75 or $48.26),

but there are less expensive set menus,

and they sell takeaways too, the food was excellent, and a very pleasant surprise to find a Indian restaurant as good as this so close to home,

we started to walk home, when looking over the road I spotted this sign in the window of a shop,

I have seen many signs for sale with say 10% or maybe a third reduced from the full price,

but I cannot fathom out how or why this particular percentage has been arrived at, for me go for 50% or 55%, but 51.8647%, why?

we continued our walk, my head still buzzing trying to work out how much I would save on a product from the shop that cost, say the price of the meal we had just eaten, 1,610, I soon had it, 835.02167, so take that from the original 1,610 and it would cost me 774.97833 exactly, and as a double check adding 835.02167 to 774.97833, the answer is exactly 1,610, so that's all right then! arriving home it was late, we always take a long time over our meals, so just a couple from Reggie and we were off to bed.
