Could This Globular Springtail,

be the fastest spinning creature on the planet?

when a scientist is restricted to his home, he will find something interesting to study, an entomologist is lucky in that respect, since insects are everywhere. Dr. Adrian Smith took at look at the globular springtails (which are technically not insects) that gathered on his garbage can. These bugs are spring-loaded, and can jump and spin in enormous arcs relative to their size, a few facts and figures, in the course of his research Dr. Adrian found that the spring tail flipped at a rate of 374 flips per second!, and achieved an amazing rotation rate of 22,440 rotations per minute, put into context a car engine typically runs between 5,000 to 15,000 rotations per minute, what an amazing creature the globular springtail really is.
