The Last Time We Went To The Surf Kitchen It Was Packed,

there were so many people in fact that we could not get served,

what a difference a week makes! we could almost of had any table we wished,

one of the bowls of offerings,

we looked through the menu, but the reason we come here is that Diana thinks that this place serves the best spaghetti in Jomtien, 'Ah!' for me the usual prawn salad,
spaghetti for Diana, the restaurant is on the corner of Jomtien Beach Road and Soi 6,
on the way back we called in to see Mick and Mass, she was cooking a Filipino dish, which both girls found delicious,
they then jumped on a bike to buy some more food,
I must admit it did not smell that appetizing to me!
then home to do a little bit on the trains,
we had mixed up some paint the day before, Diana is making a start on painting the 'rocks',
the first one finished over a tunnel entrance, only another 40 or so to go!
meanwhile I had decided to make a start on painting the tracks, unpainted above,
slightly 'weathered' I wanted to give the track a used look, rather than looking brand new,
Diana painting some of the rocks on the far side of the layout,
and me painting the tracks,
once I had completed a small section of track I mixed up some AIM 'rust' powder with alcohol to paint the sides of the rails with, you are supposed to use it dry for wagons but it worked fine,
it looks too red in this shot, but in life they look quite effective,
the first section of track finished, but still lots more to do,
then downstairs for the evening meal,
chicken satay and rice, then out on the town,
we arrived in town, Diana fancied some fresh water melon,
just one slice, 10 baht,
we decided to take a walk along to the end of the street near Bali Hai pier, but on the way spotted this guy,
he was with 3 or 4 others with a couple of police escorts, on his back was a TV screen with a message to help the people of Haiti, the police officers were holding the donation boxes,
Walking Street a bit quieter than last week,
if you like live music this is the bar to go to, most bands I have heard out here would benefit from a mercy killing, but without exception who ever plays here when we walk past is first rate,
we just had to stop and have another look at the sand man,
he mentioned to one onlooker he can give lessons,
a final touch,
and there you have it, absolutely fascinating to watch, the small glass jars are 100 baht,
I do not know how this place survives, great music, not to expensive, but just two seats to sit on and they were taken,
first stop we went upstairs to Peppermint Palace to give it it's proper name, 59 baht each for a V & S and Diana's coke, then over to see Grieg in Sweethearts, a few in there getting up to date with the local scene,
a glance at the girls on the stairs going up to Lady Shadow,
then into Champions where Jay and Precil called in to join us with Juu, the night before Jay, Mike and myself were all talking about some thing and very interesting it was to, but not one of us today can remember what it was! answers on a postcard please! then home to 388,
to watch some of Little Britain, what a great comedy team, but do not watch if you are easily offended or dislike character stereotypes, then off to bed.
