Thursday, Off Fishing,

with Mick and Mass, Nick and Maureen,
we were all meeting at Uncle Charlies fishing park on Soi Nob Plan Wan, (spelt as it sounds),
it now has new owners, last time we were here they had just put in some sun loungers, now a few kiddies fun rides had been added, straight away and the girls are eating! they had bought some corn on the cob, this is a strange one though, yellow, brown and black all on the same cob,
a nice big one for me, we wanted to catch 6 or 7 as Mass wanted top prepare some for the street blessing that is happening on Sunday where Mick and Mass rents a house,
a nice one for the pot!
Diana trying to lift the net, put the fish in it and not drop her food,
Diana, Mass and Maureen,
Mick contemplating the day,
more food arrives!
by now we had all caught a few each,
the girls decided to settle down for the afternoon's fishing,
the guys that work at the park decided to cut down a few coconuts,
meanwhile Mass
and Diana had gone to the land of nod,
very kindly the lads gave us a couple of coconuts, which reminded me of the 50's when they were so expensive, Dad and Grandad took us to a fun fair and won a couple in the coconut shy, when we arrived home and opened them one was a rotten as a pear, but the other was like nectar, those were the days!
then Mass was into a fish,
another one for the pot,
then it was Mick's turn,
we left at about 5 in the afternoon, we put more than a few back, but kept these, a really lovely afternoon,
Nick and Maureen had kindly invited us all over for a chicken casserole, Ta -Ta waiting for her meal
Diana cooling her feet, but in fact it was quite cool and overcast, rain had been forecast but did not appear,
"Cheers!" from all of us and a big thank you to Nick and Maureen, but there was a surprise,
Nick who was a professional chef, grabbed some brandy and cointreau
and made us all some crepe suzettes, Diana tried to take a picture of one in the air, but missed it every time,
as you can see from the look on Diana's face they were delicious, once again many thanks to Nick and Maureen for looking after us all so well,
back to Mick and Mass's house, we just wanted one fish to give to our next door neighbour,
whilst Mass and Diana sorted the fish out, Mick and myself had a quick drink, then for us home to bed.
