The New Fish We Bought For The Aquariums,

seemed fine so as we were going out today we thought we would buy a few more,

this one of them, both are freshwater, in here there are barbs, silver sharks and rainbow fish,

and if you look carefully under the rock one of the blue lobsters,

the other aquarium has cichlids from Lake Malawi and Tanganyika,

but first we were off to Royal Garden in Third Road,

where a flower show was taking place,

the show was contest between Crown of Thorns (Euphorbia milii) growers,

outside the Royal Garden a few plant displays had been erected,

so we made our way upstairs to the show,

there were various categories,

choosing this category at random, this is the winner,

next to the second and third competitors,

after looking around the rest of the collection we made our way downstairs to the beach Road entrance to Royal Garden, easy to spot as this mobile cocktail bar seems to have take up permanent residence here, not to mention the McDonald's behind it,

and in a play on words it is the Volk Street Bar,

then along to the fish and cheep shop (they sell fish and birds) on Third Road,

a quick look at some of the fish for sale,

then we decided on a couple of these, tinfoil barbs, (Barbonymus schwanenfeldii), they are in fact a native of Thailand,

then Diana wanted a couple of those,

next stop home to put the fish in their new home,

 easy does it,

we hardly had time to sit down when it was time to go, a self portrait of Diana,

glad rags on and we were off,

to Cherry's on Third Road just opposite what was the X-Cite disco,

if you enter the restaurant from Third Road the main seating are and buffet is at the rear of the building,

 first stop the salad bar,

 lots to chose from,

you can help yourself to as much as you can eat, the smoked salmon tray had a few gaps in it as we left the area!

so eyes down and tuck in,

 'Cheers!',

next on to our main courses,

Mr. Tony was determined not to blink this time when I took his picture,

by the time we got to the dessert there were almost a few empty plates, the restaurant was packed, literally every table was taken, we always like sitting by one of the windows so we book a day or two before, as the tourist season is upon us it would be a good idea to remember to book as the 350 baht per person International buffet on Wednesday and Saturdays is so popular,

there was still plenty of ice cream,

 so a bowlful for me,

then some more raspberry delights appeared so Diana went back to the buffet area,

I had to have one of those, again another great meal from Cherry's even though the place was packed as soon as a dish was getting low another plateful appeared, for a evening meal out I can not think of a more reasonably priced place to eat considering the choice of dishes available,

back home and feet up we watched two of the chapters in Seven Wonders of the Industrial World, I know the BBC has a few problems at the moment, but one thing about the BBC is that they do know how to make a good documentary, this one is no exception, the two we watched were the Great Eastern, Brunel's massive 22,500-ton steamship that was so far ahead of her time that her length (nearly 700 feet) and tonnage would remain unmatched for four more decades, followed by the Bell Rock Lighthouse, in 1799, over 70 ships went down in a violent storm that raged along the coast, some thing had to be done to warn shipping of the mainly submerged rock and it was, to this day the lighthouse built there still shines out across the North Sea, it is the oldest offshore lighthouse still standing anywhere in the world, with that we said our goodbyes to Mr. Tony and we were off to bed.
