Up Early And We Were Away,

or so we thought,

we were going to drive up the coast to Ban Sang for the annual motorbike show, but after just a few miles the truck developed a misfire, that became worse the further we travelled, so a U turn and we spluttered and staggered our way home, a call to Nissan and it is booked in for Monday morning to be repaired, I just hope it all holds together till I get there, but the day was now free so off to the market in Soi Khao Talo, it is there every Saturday, to find it go towards Sumkivitt on Pattaya Tai (South) Road turn right at the traffic lights then at the next set turn left, that is Soi Khao Talo, over the railway crossing continue for a mile or so and it is on the right, the entrance is just behind Diana in the picture,

it is mainly a fresh food market, with meat, fish, fruit and vegetables on offer,

it seems strange to see a Bluespotted Stingray sold for food, I normally see them when they are kept as pets,

we made our way the long way round going past many of the vegetable stalls first,

a quick sprint past the dresses,

to one of the stalls we have visited before, Diana tried some grapes, well we wanted to buy the sweetest,

meanwhile I picked through the radishes for smaller ones that do not taste 'woody' like the larger ones do for my salad in the evenings,

if you like them lots of mushrooms to chose from,

we have nearly bought all that we want,

the view along one of the aisles,

it looks like the first of this years crop of mini oranges, they are grown in China so I am told,

on our way back we stopped at one of the plant nurseries, this one is on the left about 100 meters before the railway line,

lots of plants to chose from,

also I noticed a number of monkey cups,

the cups themselves were quiet large, these about 3",

also in the nursery there was a fish pond,

whilst there we bought a cactus, a couple of ours had died, which is quiet an achievement when you think of how indestructible they are,

 the hanging baskets looked nice,

 as did the flower beds,

 with lots of colours,

and variegated leaves to look at,

after paying for our cactus I noticed this orchid had some flowers on it,

not the smallest flowers in the orchid world,

but I am guessing quite close,

a few garden ornaments and wind chimes were on display at the entrance to the nursery,

 a trio of frogs,

then home to play with the cactus, one of the ones that had died left two smaller ones so we replanted those,

 and planted the new one,

and there they are, we are still keeping them under cover as I think the rain killed two of them as it made the soil too wet, but who knows?

the two small one sans the one that died,

and the new one in place, then our evening meal and a bit of television,

finally in the evening Silent Witness, but last night we got ahead of ourselves with series 3, there was still a disc we had not watched in series 2, so back we went to Only the Lonely, the wife of Michael Mathews, Helen, is found murdered, she was about to run away to Canada with her lover, Michael is found drunk at the scene but did he kill her? with that we were off to bed.
