Up Early,

and off fishing,

there were a couple of other fishermen at the lake,

so just the 6 of us in all,

the skies clear and blue, it was going to be hot,

the contest was on to see who would catch the first eatable fish,

in anticipation, one of the lakes cats called over,

 'fish please',

 I said, 'fish please!',

but it was no good, try as we might both Nick and Myself remained fishless,

then after what seemed like an age the first fish of the day,

quickly unhooked and he was off to the kitchen,

the very next cast number two,

in no time at all the first fish reappeared on the table,

which Diana expertly skinned and boned,

as she was doing that one of the lake staff brought over some sauces,

 naturally the cat called back,

 and brought a friend,

next to us some jasmine flowers had opened,

 attracting a local butterfly,

things went quiet on the fishing front, a couple of snakeheads, (channa striata) or pla chon, (in Thai ช่อน), as they are known locally, came up to the surface,

a damselfly takes a rest on my float,

and that is the way the day ended 2 - 0  to me,

if you fancy a day out by the lake this is their map above, it is off of Soi Nub Plan Wan, (spelt as it sounds), turn into the Soi from Sumkivitt, once in the Soi go over the railway crossing and continue for a couple of miles, the road starts to go downhill, near the bottom of it you will see the road the fishing park is in on the right hand side, almost opposite the big pink building on the left, follow that for a while, it twists and turns a bit and the fishing park is on the left next to a soccer ground, there are rods and tackle for hire and bait to buy, plus a fridge full of beer!

we went back to Nick and Maureen's home after a few snacks of vegetable and prawn spring rolls it was time for our evening meal,

a delicious chicken curry followed by cheese and biscuits and ice cream,

then to the serious part of the evening, Monopoly, which despite my having 5 hotels Diana won! she refused to land on any of mine, and and I repeatedly landed on hers, we thanked Nick and Maureen for looking after us so well, then made a move for home, we watched a couple of Judge Judy over a nightcap and then for us we were off to bed.
