so into the taxi,
and we are off Bangkok bound,
passing many of the now familiar,
buildings,
on the way,
work was continuing,
on the huge construction site,
as we neared the market,
and here we were,
the new building taking shape in the background,
we parked in JJ Mart,
so we had a look around some of the stalls there,
on this floor fancy goods,
and clothes,
lots of clothes,
and as we found the beauty section,
we knew we were near our goal,
breakfast at KFC!
followed by an ice cream from Dairy Queen,
and we were then on our way to the fish food shop,
that had a huge selection, I have to admit a few of these in tins the packaging seems to be a bit over the top for fish food, but there it is,
and this is what we bought, two tubs of XiTuan Yuan, for our friend in the UK to feed to his flowerhorn cichlid,
as we were here we had a quick look around the Chatuchak market,
whose a pretty boy then! it is amazing, the sheer variety of fish, animals and birds that are available here,
as we were in Bangkok we decided to call into Central,
which compared to the Central Festival in Pattaya was huge, well we were in Bangkok,
the main reason we called in was that we found out there was a cat show there, sponsored by Royal Canin,
and some other contributors,
the show itself was organised by The Cat Fanciers' Association,
there were various breeds of cats on show,
but this was the serious part, the show itself,
walking around we spotted this Bengal cat,
and very nice he looked too,
with Tik the owner,
naturally there were lots of stalls,
selling food,
and cat accessories,
even special grass for your cat to eat,
but it was all too much for this cool cat,
well we were early, so a stop for a drink,
ice tea for Diana, ice latte coffee for myself,
at Black Canyon Coffee,
as we entered we were given the eye by this chap,
and some of the cat people started to arrive,
I am guessing a pop group,
I remember one from long ago, the Stray Cats,
when they sung Stray Cat Strut,
moving on we made our way along some of the aisles,
where we notice a prairie dog making a bid for freedom,
it was all too much for his friend,
the great escape continues,
aided and abetted by a Meerkat,
back to the show,
the judging began, all of the time the judge explaining what points he was looking for in each breed of cat,
we also bumped into Allan Raymond, who is a world renowned judge in cat circles and in a strange happenstance lives just around the corner from us,
the prize giving begins, so many happy winners,
we continued looking around the stalls, this I am reliably informed is a high tower, much loved by cats,
and this a very high tower,
much loved by these two,
curled up,
we bade everyone farewell and made a move for home, passing THE shop, the bangkok Ducati dealership,
we passed a few more slightly different buildings,
then we were home showered and changed, Diana stayed at home, but I was off to the weekend night market, on Thepprasit Road, I arrived a tad late, the bike park filling up,
looking towards Jomtien the sky already getting dark,
the same looking inland,
opposite the bar this evening a shoe stall and a second hand clothes stall,
all of the space under the steel work now taken,
I knew I was late, the place crowded and the lights on,
new for this week a sweet stall,
the pet section busy, especially the first shop,
sunset over the market,
I made my way back to the bar,
passing the shoe stall on my left,
waiting at the bar, Brian and Jim,
night has fallen,
Cher had been shopping and Doc. Geoff arrived,
we said our farewells to Jim and Cher,
then just as I was about to leave Wut arrived so we all had a good chat, then saying goodbye to all I made a move for home, after our evening meal a couple from Judge Judy, one from The Chase, two from Death in Paradise and we were off to bed.
