I Was Out First Thing In The Morning,

before Diana was awake,

 well it was Valentine's Day,

 so along to the florists,

 to buy a red rose,

also stopped off for a small tin of candies,
we did not do much in the day, but in the evening we were going out for a romantic meal for two,

we made our way down to Soi Diamond on Second Road,

past the revolving bars opposite the hotel,

in to the Walking Street itself,

it has been some time since we were here last, a few new venues have opened up like this one,

 or this,

there seems to be a constant stream of new investors,

we counted 4 new places in just 100 yards or so,

the street was not that busy, but we were quiet early,

but it was the restaurants that we came for,

 the question was which one?

as we were looking at which restaurant to eat in we noticed two more new ventures, the Frog,

 and Sugarbaby,

back to the restaurants, which to chose?

we then made our choice, The Lobster Pot, which Duncan and myself frequented some 30 or so years ago,

we walked through the main entrance,

to our table outside over looking the sea,

Diana joined me with a glass of wine,

we ordered seafood and pineapple rice to go with our main course,

we did not know that rice was included with the seafood platter,

when the platter arrived we were both amazed at the size of it,

'Happy Valentine's!' from both of us,

 and 'Cheers!', from me,

no prizes for guessing who ate most of the mussels, it was me!

Diana meanwhile making a start on one of the rock lobsters,

 whilst I de-boned the fish,

by now the platter was not looking as full as it was,

so we took a bit of break to have a look around,

the table we had looked towards one of the new businesses that had opened up,

 in the distance,

the Frog, now going out over the sea,

by now we had finished our main course, so it was time to concentrate on our desserts,

 which arrived shortly,

 crepe suzette for myself,

 and banana flambé for Diana,

naturally we swapped half way through eating them,

after we had finished it was time to head home, if you go to the Lobster Pot the seafood platter we had was 1,390 baht or for 1,690 baht the platter comes with a litre of red or white wine, in the menu house wine was 160 baht a glass, so if you are going to drink more than 2 glasses of house wine the 1,690 is a good deal,

on the way out I noticed an aquarium I had not seen on the way in, nice it looked too,

a quick pose on the way out,

we also stopped to see what we had missed,

 I want that one!

 lots of vegetables,

 as well as seafood,

 to chose from,

then a walk along the street,

where a little bit of street theatre was taking place,

so we had to take a picture,

 smile for the camera!

 and Diana got the balloon,

we made our way back to the motorbike taxis at the top of Soi Diamond,

 then home,

where Diana made me a perfect latte coffee, what a lovely evening,

we watched a BBC drama Sweeney Todd, a gripping though well known story about murder and pies, people were eating people though they did not know it at the time, and was the story of the demon barber and his pie making accomplice true? have a look here for one of the many articles about the demon barber of Fleet Street,

we rounded the evening off with a computer generated 3D feast, Lichtmond 2, the images so out of this world, but then not quite,

as it says in the blurb, 'the audience experiences an untouched world full of suns, stars and fantastic creatures - beautiful and charming like a painted dream', everything so perfect,

the images stunning and the music spot on, a great way to end the evening, if you do have a chance to watch this give it a try, I know not to everyones taste but we both enjoyed it, by now it was late, so for us we were off to bed.
