There Did Not Seem To Be Any Thing Interesting, Amusing Or Just Plain Weird Happening In The Papers Today,

so on with the post,

we were running short of fish food, so I popped along to the aquatic store on Third Road,

naturally I had to have a look around at what was on offer as stock changes frequently,

 but nothing took my fancy,

so back on my bike then to Jack Levey's office on Pattaya Tai to pick up the policy documents for our house and bike insurance, also our BUPA cards,

if you stand with your back to his office you will see the TOA paint shop, beside it there is a small road that runs past what was once the Vientiane restaurant,

if you decided to drive down that road you will come across this shop,

 on the right hand side,
it is a second hand shop,

with all manner of treasures inside,

no prices were on display, so if you decide to have a look remember to be in your best haggle mode!

just after I returned Hans and Nan called round for a chat about fish, it goes to show what being away from the trade has done to my memory over the past few years, I really had to struggle to remember some of the Latin names, I knew my short term memory was bad but it appears my long term memory is shot to pieces as well!

as it was Wednesday we were out for a meal, this evening to Cherry's in Third Road,

as well as Mr. Tony Mark also joined us this evening,

we were all on our second plate of starters,

the kebab and carvery chef always pleased to see us,

next on to our main courses,

pizza with spaghetti bolognese for Diana,

and little bit of a few dishes for myself,

baked salmon, a slice of chicken, prawns in sauce and some rare roast lamb with mashed potatoes,

time for deserts and what a selection,

Diana very kingly offered to make us a couple of fruit cocktails covered with ice cream,

 which were delicious,

then time for our coffees,

Mr. Tony went for the large one,

they were delicious, at 350 baht a person for the evening all you can eat buffet is the bargain of the year, but be prepared to wait for a table, last night it was absolutely packed, but it was worth the wait!

in the afternoon we watched Kind Hearts and Coronets, we had bought a full price DVD from the UK only a few months ago, then we received this one from Graham which was free, it was given away by a daily newspaper in the UK, just my luck to pay for an original one before they are being given away! but this is what I wrote when we watched it before, 'although made in 1946 still good fun to watch, from the blurb, a distant poor relative of the Duke of D'Ascoyne plots to inherit the title by murdering the eight other heirs who stand ahead of him in the line of succession, it sounds horrific but handled as it was by Ealing Studio's it was a harmless black comedy to watch', and great fun to watch again,

then a real treat, the latest BluRay from Downton Abbey, A Trip to the Highlands, so nice to see the characters again, the Crawleys travel to Duneagle castle in Scotland to holiday with Rose and her parents 'Shrimpie' and Susan, an unhappily married couple due to leave for Bombay in line with Shrimpie's posting with the Diplomatic Corps, but all of this pails into insignificance when we come near to the end of the episode, we were all sad at the ending,

so to cheer us all up two episodes from Mrs. Brown's Boys, as the cover says 'outrageously funny' and it was, Agnes Brown - a widow living in Ireland - runs her home with an iron fist as she manages her sons, daughter Kathy and best friend Winnie, add elderly Granddad, various in-laws and grandchildren to the mix and Mrs Brown usually has her hands full, funny, outspoken and never at a loss for words (especially profanity), she gets through life and the daily grind with a caustic remark and a loving wink, also she interacts with the audience and film crew when things go wrong so you see what would have been outtakes as part of the show, by now it was late so after saying our goodbyes to Mr. Tony we were off to bed.
