Great News,

if like us you enjoyed the first two series of BBC's Sherlock Holmes,

it appears filming series three is under way, as more pictures featuring are released, stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman on set – with Cumberbatch at one point filming a night-time scene in the rain, while another shot sees him and Freeman apparently sharing a joke with first assistant director Toni Staples, the shots follow speculation over when the show may return, with the BBC so far only offering random clues as to what series three is likely to offer,

the titles of the three new episodes have been revealed as The Empty Hearse, written by Mark Gatiss, The Sign of Three, written by Steve Thompson, and His Last Vow, which has been penned by Steven Moffat, the new series will also feature a new adversary in the shape of Charles Augustus Magnusson, played by Danish actor Lars Mikkelson, the character is thought to be based on Charles Augustus Milverton, – known as ‘the king of blackmailers’ who appeared in a 1904 short story published in The Return Of Sherlock Holmes,

a broadcast date for the new series has yet to be confirmed, although rumours have suggested it could kick off on January 1 2014, what a great start to the New Year.
