as only 50 of them are going to be made, in 1995, five McLaren F1 GTR models finished the Le Mans 24hr
race, coming in 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 13th, to celebrate this special achievement, McLaren's Special
Operations division have produce this 650S and called it the ‘Le Mans' edition, the specifications
include a fully integrated,
roof-mounted snorkel air intake (like the '95 cars), channelling air
into the unchanged 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 which is expected to give out 641bhp, developing 500lb ft,
and is hoped to propel the car to 0-62mph in three
seconds and give it a top speed of 207mph.
prices
stand at £244,500 (a standard 650S Coupe starts at £195k), with deliveries
commencing later this year, and if you buy one, you'll be invited to a special
20th anniversary celebration at Le Mans courtesy of McLaren, the price includes an invitation for two to the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans,
which will take place June 13th and 14th, would I like one? you bet, but I
think I am busy in that week in June so I will let some one else have my one.
