I Was Out Early,

to visit Duncan,

it was a bit of a chilly start to the day,

almost clear skies,

the bus was on time, and I was soon passing Peter Pan's Pool,

no fountain this morning,

all I can think about this building is that it must be dark inside, with no natural light through the windows,

Lewisham town hall still receiving some attention,

the market,

all stocked up and ready for trade, the good news was that the bus being on time meant that all of the next three connections would only entail a short wait at each one,

past the florists,

the display looking as nice and colourful as ever,

I knew it was too good to be true! the 09.33 cancelled, so a short wait here, but a long one at Dartford and Gravesend,

at Dartford the fountain was working,

and today 2 swans,

seem to be making the lake their home, I had plenty of time to take a few photographs,

the same at Gravesend, the 483 not due for some time,

so a few more photographs, the sky looking nice,

across the road,

the flowers in the hanging baskets have now been cut back for the winter,

after the bus a walk up the hill,

to the nursing home, to visit Duncan, who was his normal happy self, we chatted away until his lunch arrived, we then said our farewells,

I made my way past the clock tower,

to the bus stop,

and the to the station at Gravesend which is opposite the towns shopping mall,

after the usual trains I arrived back in Blackheath, so over the road to the bus stop,

behind the bus stop is a card and stationary shop,

selling what appear to be hand made cards, at least they do not seem to be the usual run of the mill cards,

I was soon speeding past the building that never seems to be finished as far as renovations are concerned,

the bee gardens on top of some of the bus stops now fully recovered from the drought,

walking past Foxgrove Lodge,

the dahlias,

were putting on a good show,

in the evening time for a read and a sherry,

for tonight poppadums with a spicy relish that Diana made,

'Cheers!''

we followed with onion bhajis and a lamb samosa,

which were delicious,

we had a long break, Diana taking another photograph of the stinky cactus, (stapelia), its flower now fully open, they are called stinky because of the smell they give out to attract insects, but they are not carnivorous, the insects are used to fertilise the flowers, as it happens this one has no discernible smell to us,

time for our main course Diana had made medium hot curry, and nice it was too,

out with the Christmas mince pies,

I know it is a bit early, but they are so nice, after our meal by sheer happenstance it was time for a Lewis, followed by a New Tricks before we were off to bed.
