from Lidl,
so out into another glorious day, to the number 54 bus stop, then it all stopped, the bus came to a grinding halt,
the High Street snarled up,
eventually I arrived at Lidl, it seems like I had only been here yesterday!
I took a close up of the box plants, (buxus sempervirens), that I saw yesterday,
next stop the chemists for my bi-monthly prescription,
on the walk back home this at least explains one reason for the High Street to become blocked,
a car had taken out a lamp post which for some reason stopped the traffic lights from working,
up the hill and past the church,
into a sunny park, hardly a cloud in the sky,
it was soon time to pick some music for the evening,
time for a read and a sherry,
followed by a prawn salad,
'Cheers!',
for our main course, baked salmon, asparagus and mashed potatoes,
eyes down and tuck in!
onto our dessert, a crème brûlée and strawberries,
which were delicious, tonight we decided to take in a few movies,
starting with I. Frankenstein, which had so many special effects, great fun, we followed that with a gore fest,
Final Destination, if blood and guts are not your thing, this is a film to miss, but I did like the way the death scenes were built up, we rounded off the evening,
with The Last Vermeer, a really enjoyable movie set after the second World War, an all but forgotten true story, about a soldier investigating renowned Dutch artist Han van Meegeren, played by Guy Pearce, who I have to say was brilliant, the main characters represent actual persons: Han van Meegeren, Joseph Piller, Johanna Oerlemans, Dirk Hannema as they were in real life, after which we were off to bed.
