We Had A Special Day Planned,

it was Diana day off,

and some time ago Diana had booked a table, so glad rags on and up to London,

no not the Ritz, somewhere a tad more expensive,

we almost called in for some caviar,

but we continued to Fortnum & Mason,

a quick pose,

or two,

as we made our way upstairs,

looking at the Christmas decorations,

the restaurant was on the fourth floor,

we took the stairs rather than the lift,

at our table,

time to peruse the menu and decided on what tea to accompany our afternoon sandwiches, scones and cakes,

the restaurant is split into two halves,

to accompany our meal Diana chose a non alcoholic sparkling tea, a white wine for myself,

Diana's tea was poured,

'Cheers!',

we settled back,

and in no time our meal arrived,

one of the waiters,

very kindly offered to take our photographs,

I had to have another 'Cheers!',

a couple of photographs before we started,

in case you are wondering it was not a special occasion, it was just that a couple of months ago, yes that is how far at times ahead you need to book, we decided that today we would pop to London, so Diana arranged her day off around it,

a look at one of the plates of cakes,

and a video that Diana made,

this was Diana's favourite, the caviar topped custard egg,

yummy!

our meal over we took a box of cakes home with us, the bill came to £181.00,

time to collect our coats,

we listened to the pianist as we waited, who was playing the theme from The Imitation Game,

which is a charming piece of music,

we started making our way downstairs,

looking down from the centre of the store,

stopping at each floor on the way, this looked nice,

a advent whisky, run and liqueurs box, only £250,

another floor, and another few treats,

so many 'must have' items for Christmas,

outside we made our way back towards the tube station, stopping along the way,

and with my interest in fish I just had to pose outside of the Linnean Society,

we then walked the Burlington Arcade,

the first shop selling macaroons took Diana's attention,

along with these,

I was looking at cufflinks,

and naturally some Jewellery for Diana,

the arcade is huge,

that one for Diana, only 5 carats in a solitaire diamond ring, then I realised I had left my credit card at home, oh well there it is!

we made our way past another arcade,

as we walked towards the station,

a quick pose in Green Park,

we were soon travelling past the Battersea power station,

we were so full, as it happens we had ordered a extra round of sandwiches,

one from Diana as we walked through the park, arriving home it was feet up for a couple of quiz shows, before a Midsomer Murder and a New Tricks, we had a early night as Diana is on early shift tomorrow, what a lovely day out, and with that we were off to bed.
