I Decided To Play,

with a few more photographs,

in Thailand,

I just love the curves of the glazed roof,

and this, a full size elephant, all made of gears, chains and scrap metal, which at the moment lives in Big Robot Pattaya, again when I visited there in October/November last year, as an aside I often read the daily papers, my first choice the Daily Mail, I think it pays a little for its upkeep by generating 'clicks' where it can attract advertisers by the number of people that read a article, leave a comment, and then vast numbers of readers 'click' the comment, a great way to sell adverting space in your daily rag, but there is a downside, this is a screen shot of a normal page from yesterdays newspaper,

the article is in there, somewhere! you can click on some advertisements telling the rag why you do not want to see them again,

I took this screen shot, there are 4 reasons not to see them again on the top right,

but here is the thing, I on gambling advertisements always click, 'Ad was inappropriate', but the same advertisement keeps appearing again and again, and here is a consequence I do not understand, if I click a lot of 'Ad was inappropriate' I am then not allowed to see or click on any comments for the rest of the read, which somewhat defeats the idea of publishing 'click bait',

on to my evening meal after which I picked Diana up from the station after her company break in Lyme Regis, they all had a great time, if somewhat windy for the last couple of days, we arrived home just in time for a coffee and a chat before the start of a Midsomer Murder, but before that a surprise for Diana, when Diana first mentioned about going away for a couple of days I realized that one of them was our wedding anniversary, but I did not mention anything in case she decided not to go, but when she arrived home,

this was waiting for her on the table, a bunch of flowers,

and a card,

I especially choose some dwarf daffodils, I know Diana likes them so much,

I also showed her a few of the prints I had been playing with whilst she was away, after Midsomer Murder, Diana was off to bed, she had been travelling for so long, as it happens we might take a short break this summer to Lyme Regis or nearby Charmouth, for myself a Have I Got A Bit More News For You, before I too was off to bed.

Sunday Has Raced Around Again,

where do the days go?

I started with a read and a sherry,

followed by bangers & mash, 'Cheers!',

and then a quick play with just a couple of photographs, some garden ornaments,

I just love the family of ducks, in the next few days I will play with another family, but with a different colour cravat and headscarf's, I decided against Columbo this afternoon/evening and decided on,
Hombre, a unusual but likable western, not quite out of the same mould as many others, after a snack in the evening,

Alien Covenant I watched the film before and mentioned then: 'it looked so stunning in 4K, and more than a bit scary in places', with the end of that, a documentary, Shipwreck Secrets, it was fascinating how much information about a unknown wreck was out there on paper, if you are a dedicated wreck hunter and have the knowledge of where to look, the team pieced together why the SS Cotopaxi sank with its 32 members of crew and cargo, it was then time for me to round my evening off with a Have I Got A Bit More News For You, before I was off to bed.

I Decided To Play,

with a few photographs,

all black and white,

and all taken in the same place,

I was fascinated with the design and roof of the building, Diana is still in Lyme Regis and sent me a couple of photographs,

I keep reading about how bad the weather is in the area,

but so far for the outing it has been sunny, although a tad cold Diana mentioned, just a thought I keep our blog free of any thing political, and of course we do not want to unset the wrapped in cotton wool snowflakes, which is just as well if this chart of arrests of online comments is to be believed!

back to my day,

after playing with the photographs it was time for my evening read and sherry,

for tonight a slice of gala pie,

and a main course of a lamb hot pot, again! I had forgotten that Diana had bought me one for the Friday and bangers and mash for Saturday, so I popped down to by my Sunday lunch and bought a second hot pot! worse still I forgot the bangers and mash so had a lamb hot pot 2 nights running, next relax in front of the television with,

The Good Old Days illustration IMDB the episode I watched starred Ronnie Corbett, whilst on YouTube I found a clip that for myself was totally fascinating, the making in Korea of a resin table top, it is here:

I found it so interesting I watched a couple more, one of a table top that needed a fork lift truck or several men to move it,

I rounded off my evening with Outlaw King, a almost all action movie, great cast, story, (manly true), and scenery after which I was off to bed.

Diana Is Away For The Weekend,

it is the firms outing, this time to Lyme Regis,

so that left me to strip down the tree, it took an age! there were so many baubles on it, the boxes of them I took upstairs, but I left the tree, it was a tad heavy and unmanageable, I had taken it upstairs by myself before, but having had a really bad back with sciatica, I did not want to push my luck and strain my back again, a job for both of us when Diana returns next week, after I had taken the boxes upstairs,

it was time to play with a few photographs,

of waterlilies that I had taken,

on our last visit to Thailandon one of my trips to the plant market opposite the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, which took me nicely up to my evening meal,

first a read and a sherry,

followed by a lamb hot pot, 'Cheers!', after which it was a couple of films for the evening firstly,

Robocop 3, what can I say, well not as good as the first two, but still entertaining enough, no prizes for guessing who 'wins!' I rounded off my evening with,

Watchmen, the movie surprised me with it's violence, the plot I lost, several times, as it happens I was not too sure I actually had it to lose, I will let a post on IMDB sum up the film:

"Reviewers say 'Watchmen' is acclaimed for its intricate characters, dark themes, and loyalty to the graphic novel. Performances, especially Jackie Earle Haley and Billy Crudup, are highlighted. Criticisms involve pacing, slow-motion effects, and plot deviations. Some find it lengthy and slow, others miss the source material's depth. Violence and graphic content elicit mixed reactions. Despite this, the film is celebrated for its visuals, direction, and its exploration of heroism and morality".

and with the end of that I was off to bed.

I Had To Pop Into Town,

to pick up my prescription,

I also having seen the blurb on the Internet wanted to call in here to open a savings account, the advertisement mention friendly service etc, so I was a tad disappointed to find out that none of the three tellers could open an account, I had to make an appointment some time next week, so I gave that up as a bad job and bimbled into the post office, I filled a form in, handed it to the teller and that was, that job done! next pick up my prescription for the second part of it, as the last time one item time did not arrive and also the second half of my bi-monthly prescription, then home where I spent some time on the telephone to Bromley council, arraigning to have the final bill for the shops rates to be issued, 7 - 10 working days it will take apparently, also a lot longer on the telephone to BT, having agreed to waver a contract fee of some £700+ they now said they have no record of the conversation, how convenient! so I spent so much time trying to retrieve my conversation with them, the tapes/transcripts will be arriving in again 7 - 10 working days, which brought me up to my evening meal, later in the evening Diana called, so off to pick her up from work, arriving home a western,

Silverado, in 1880, four men travel together to the city of Silverado righting wrongs on their way, a nice feel good movie at the end, though not without a few killings thrown in for good luck, this western has everything, gunfights, saloons, wagon trains, settlers, barn dance, good verses evil, kidnapping, double dealing, four grudge plots all different but coming together at the end, it even had a stampede! after we watched a Bangers & Cash, tonight featuring a Reliant Scimitar GTC, you can watch the episode here, by now it was late, so for us we were off to bed.

It Was A Busy Day Again Outside,

a new front and side fence were being installed,

some of the heroes who braved the bitterly cold weather,

at the front new post had been put in place,

at the side,

all of the 14 or so wind and age damage panels,

had been replaced along with a few new concrete posts, tomorrow I am guessing will be the final day when the wire is placed at the front,

I was still waiting for a few telephone calls so that the last few invoices from the shop can be paid, which gave me some time to play with Lee's photograph of the Andromeda Galaxy (M31) he took a few nights ago, I took a tad longer playing with it this time and found a lot more detail in the outer part of it, I am much happier with this image than the previous one I played with,

this brought me up to my evening read, the latest issue of Private Eye had just arrived, Diana had as a Christmas present bought me the next years issues as a subscription, which went well with a Harvey's sherry,

for my meal the doggie bag of Nepalese food we had brought back from the Mount Everest Nepalese restaurant, 'Cheers!', I watched a film waiting for Diana to return home from work,

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, if it is special effects you want, this film has the lot, so much detail and not a bad storyline as well, after which Diana arrived home so feet up for a coffee and a chat, as we watched a Bangers & Cash, a Saab model 96 was completely refurbished and as usual the producers of the programme lost a fortune when it came to auction it off, Matthewson's appraisal,

is here, after which Diana was off to bed, a Have I Got A Bit More News For You and I too was off to bed.

I Spent The Morning,

trying to settle one of the last invoices from one of our suppliers,

I am awaiting some information from the estate agent that oversaw the sale, hopefully in the next few days all will be completed, in the afternoon, a play with a couple of photographs, firstly a huge metal elephant, I saw this one when I visited Big Robot Pattaya, on our last visit to Thailand,

the second photograph of a collection of living stones as they are called, Lithops to give them their scientific name, I saw these on a visit to a outdoor garden centre in Pattaya,

then something out of this world, not one of my photographs I am afraid to say, but one taken a couple of nights ago by Lee, it is the Andromeda Galaxy (M31), if you are interested the galaxy it is our closest major galactic neighbour, a vast spiral galaxy about 2.5 million light-years away, visible to the naked eye as a faint smudge in the constellation Andromeda, and contains roughly a trillion stars, significantly more than the Milky Way, here it is,

from the Hubble telescope, photograph from NASAwell Lee's telescope is not quite as powerful, but here is Lee's photograph after I played with it a tad,

I tried to take away a lot of the background noise, but slightly over did the inner edge and lost some of the detail in the lower area,

a side by side comparison, I will play with it again over the next few days, all of this brought me up to when Diana arrived home from work, after our evening meal it was feet up for a couple of quiz shows before our film for the evening,

The Avengers, the 1998 movie, great fun in a surreal sort of way, also having seen Eddie Izzard in the movie it reminded us of when we visited Bexhill and looked at his model railway on display there, by now it was nearing the midnight hour, so we were off to bed.
