I Will Only Be Making One Post A Day Over The Next Few Days,

as Diana has a few days off,

so as soon as we are up we will be out, car washed and ready to go,

we drove to Castle Farm, for a afternoon in the lavender fields, with Steve and Kai,

everything out of the boot,

and under the awnings provided,

I should say you have to book in advance,

we booked the BYO Picnic in the Ladybird Lavender field with over 60,000 Lavender plants (10 acre field),

so out with the goodies,

and bubbly! I should have mentioned the cost is,

£13 per adult, £6.50 per child, 0-2yrs free. (+60p booking fee), for a 2.5 hour period,

we choose 2.00 to 4.30 in the afternoon,

time to eat,

we had bought a selection of sandwiches and pies,

Steve and Kai, brought pizza and desserts as well as home grown strawberries,

what a feast!

all set to tuck in,

but first,

open the bubbly!

nearly there,

any moment now,

success!

and 'Cheers!',

luckily we choose to sit where there was no water in the awnings,

as it happens we were literally the first here for the first day of this season!

tuck in!

then time for a few selfies,

'Cheers!',

smile,

group photographs, the sky looked a bit grey, and rain was forecast,

but thankfully the weather improved,

chocolate cakes, yummy!

a panorama of the field,

which we nearly had to ourselves,

in the distance at both ends of the field there were some darker flowers,

these are used for the cut flowers, the rest for other products,

the girls were off,

Kai had brought along a tripod,

so there was no stopping them now,

pose after pose,

a few of Diana,

amongst the lavender,

when I say we had the field to ourselves,

in all there were less than 20 people here,

Diana still managed to get Kai and another visitor in the background!

change of camera angle,

Diana chose braids this morning,

there is also a beer and wine tent selling cold drinks,

as well as tea and coffee,

plus a few crisps and snacks,

the cut lavender from the patches at both ends of the field,

it looked so nice,

I have almost got everyone in this photograph,

Kai and Diana were off again,

to the bench,

in the middle of the field,

so lots of poses,

one for the family album,

time for both of the girls,

meanwhile back at the awning,

both Steve and myself were counting our blessings,

that Kai had brought along a tripod,

after a time,

the girls were finished, goodness knows how many photographs they had taken,

back to the food,

it was cake time,

lots of chocolate cake,

and fresh fruit,

before the girls were off again,

to visit the darker lavender, it was a different variety,

to these that had just been cropped,

nearly there,

at last amongst the darker flowers,

it was nearing 4.30,

one more,

by now I was on the red,

group photograph,

time to pack up and go,

have chairs - will travel,

I guess I am one of the few that still remember this: Have Gun – Will Travel,

by the car park,

the local cows were curious,

this was a part of their field before it became a car park,

that said be careful where you walk, if you know what I mean! as I had more than my share of alcohol and Steve was not drinking, Steve drove home, I had already added him to the cars insurance as a named driver,

arriving home the scaffolders had been busy,

now working on the first set of chimneys,

a bit difficult to see down here, but I was not going up there! Steve and Kai came in for a coffee before driving home, what a wonderful afternoon, with hopefully more to come as the PYO season starts, in the evening we watched ITVX a couple of Midsomer Murders back to back before we were off to bed.
