First Thing We Were Up And Off To Soi Post Office In Pattaya,

about three quarters of the way up the Soi going away from the beach there is a bookshop,

which was where we were headed as we wanted to buy a birthday card,

I had parked on the other side of the road and this is the view looking towards second road, the shop sells not only birthday cards but is actually a bookshop with numerous titles written in English,

we then went down to Beach Road where I called into our bank, again!

then to the Post Office in Soi 5 Jomtien or as it is spelt here Chom Thian,

this is the same road that the immigration office is in,

birthday card posted and we were on our way,

to the Surf Kitchen on Jomtien Beach Road,

an ice coffee each for both of us,

then our main courses arrived,

a spaghetti bolognese for Diana,

and a prawn salad for myself,

after our meal we made our way back towards the top of Soi 5 passing the immigration office to the market on the other side of the new road,
it seems that this market is getting busier every time you visit here there is now a new car park in front of it,

opposite the market there is some more parking space plus lots of beer bars behind,

inside there are lots of fresh produce to choose from,

today we were after some fresh fruit, particularly those small yellow plums we like but unfortunately there were none to be had,
lots of vegetables too,

the market has three areas, at the front as you go in there are fresh fruit vendors, in the middle vegetables, at the far end fish and meat, around the sides of the market there are permanent stalls selling hardware, so there is pretty much everything you need here for eating and cooking at home,

except for the small tomatoes and corn on the cob it is pretty much pick and mix, you are given a small tray which you just heap anything you want into which is then weighed and you're given the bill,

we were really lucky here, Diana spotted some of the huge mangoes that we like so much to nibble on in the evenings,

outside the market there is a shrine for the entire area,

when we first came here there were just these few bars, but now the bar complex reaches almost to the top of the street,

the bar complex ending at this tree underneath which there are a couple of shrines,

then home and I carried on playing with our stamps, after our evening meal it was feet up to watch some of the new satellite shows as it was Monday and this is when some of the new shows are aired, this evening Gold Rush and Bering Sea Gold, also a repeat of Deadliest Catch that we had not seen that for some time so we watch it again, by now it was late so for us we were off to bed.
