The CIA's Science and Technology Directorate,

recently released details of different spying techniques,

used in the 1960s, one by turning cats into walking bugging devices, the device was called Project Acoustic Kitty, there were of course a number of problems, the cat needed an aerial to transmit the conversation, so a cut was made along the cats back to insert a piece of wire to act as an antenna, next the transmitter and battery pack had to be hidden, well it is a fact that a cat has some lose skin around the bottom of its neck, so the CIA placed the those two pieces of kit there,

next some surgery on the cats ears to put in a receiver and all was set to go, they tested him but they found he would walk off the job when he got hungry, so they put another wire in to override that and it worked! next as told by Victor Marchetti, a former CIA officer, they let the cat out of the van, then a taxi comes and runs him over, the project was abandoned after that, but it seemed such a good idea at the time!
