and first thing I was out,
Diana was already at work, a very early morning start for her, for myself out into a bright but slightly chilly day, past the snail mail box,
I walked past the green as I was on my way to the doctors surgery,
the daffodils still looking nice in the green,
I looked over the graveyard wall to see a squirrel, that disappeared as soon as he saw me,
these few daffodils still looking good,
these past their best,
but what looked like snowdrops looking nice,
as indeed did the magnolia,
I walked past what was the last bank in Beckenham, now not a single bank in the town,
Papillion where we had our Sunday lunch a few weeks ago,
down the steps by what was once the police station, a nice floral display on the left, and then into the surgery, I was in for my usual diabetes check up, also to pick up a sample container and a appointment note for a blood test to be completed,
next stop Kelsey Park, as I was in town I thought I would take a walk around it, the beds looking very colourful,
the magnolias,
also looking nice,
this kind hearted chap was releasing a mouse that his cat had brought home,
and there it was gone,
in the park the usual ducks,
and geese,
did I mention magnolias,
lots of them here as well as in the one in the churchyard,
a bit of a mystery this one, it is a small goose, or maybe a big duck? but I am not sure what specie, or if it is a colour morph of a usual goose/duck,
no prizes for guess what this one is!
or this one,
crossing the new bridge looking towards heron island,
and one of the spring flowering trees in the distance,
a bit of a squabble on the lake as moorhens and coots vie for territory and mates,
I made my way back to the entrance, past the gate house garden,
and magnolia trees,
off to the bus stop, the church at the top of the hill,
arriving in Bromley, passing The Partridge, I was on a mission,
I spent over 2 hours on the telephone to Barclays Bank over the weekend as 4 times they closed my account and called me to make sure it was me, and still would not let me transfer money, even to Diana my wife! the last person from the bank said to go into the Branch at Bromley and all would be well, I did, and it was not!! the assistant there helped me but yet again my account was frozen, now for the fifth time I could not pay for anything, she was very apologetic, as I said so were the other 4 people from Barclays who I spoke to over the weekend and could not help, the same here, even with all of the resources of the Bromley branch spanning over 2 floors, my account would remain frozen until tomorrow, the entire bank was totally helpless to give me any help, other than to say yet again, "Try again tomorrow" the same as I was told 4 times over the weekend, Barclays Bank, totally and absolutely useless, I feel like drawing all of the cash out of my account and paying in cash as I go, I will try again tomorrow, hopefully after it now being frozen for 5 times it will not be frozen again, for the sixth time!
next past Primark,
and into LIDL, luckily I had another account with a few pounds in it, so I bought the usual few bottles of spiced rum before making my way home, where it was feet up as watched some late afternoon television, Diana called to say she too was going to Bromley to meet Wilma for coffee and cakes, when she returned we tucked into our evening meal, a bit of a treat, saveloys, chips and gherkins, delicious! after which it was the usual television until it was Midsomer Murder time, one we had not watched before I am happy to say, titled,
Second Sight, image Midsomer Murder after which Diana was off to bed, another early start at 05.00AM tomorrow morning, for myself a Bangers & Cash before I too was off to bed.
