Valencia with Mikey

Mikey has just arrived back from Alaska,
so it was off to his favorite restaurant, Valencia in Tepprisit road,
it is almost opposite Eastern Princess massage room,
looking along Tepprist towards Jomtien with the restaurant behind me,
Diana outside Valencia,

inside Valencia, a small family run business which has excellent food,

Mikey was treated as a long lost friend who has just returned, we were all made to feel most welcome, Mikey had lasagne,
Diana had spaghetti and meat balls, which I tried, delicious!

for me pork chop and onions,
sliced potatoes on a bed of vegetables, a nice meal, everything home made and full of flavour, just over 1,000 baht for the 3 of us with enough left over for a take home bag for another meal, the portions of food here were really generous.

Do not mess with Fish 30

And you thought fish were fun! Well this man did and see what he got! Man faces 10 years' jail after trying to buy enough puffer fish poison to kill 100 people, Detectives have charged a man with possession of a deadly toxin found only in puffer fish toxin in an amount that could kill 100 people. Edward Bachner allegedly posed as a doctor when ordering the poison known as tetrodotoxin. He was was arrested yesterday morning when he met an undercover federal agent who delivered the toxin to him in Algonquin, near Chicago. Bachner recently ordered 98mg of the poison, which is usually used in research, from a New Jersey chemical supply company, the FBI said. 'It's an unusual amount,' said FBI Special Agent Robert Holley, head of the Chicago office's counterterrorism unit. 'That's a lot. It doesn't take much to kill.' Bachner allegedly posed as Dr. Edmond Backer to buy the toxin over the Internet. The FBI said in a statement that all of the toxin was recovered and the public was in no danger. Bachner, a financial planner and co-owner of a small technology company, was formally charged late yesterday and ordered held without bail. Possessing the toxin, commonly known as TTX, without the proper federal approval is a felony. Tetrodotoxin—a nerve toxin isolated from pufferfish or made synthetically—is typically used by researchers at universities or pharmaceutical companies. Authorities were alerted to Bachner's alleged purchase of the TTX when an employee at the New Jersey chemical supply company contacted the FBI's Newark office. Agents from that office then contacted Chicago FBI officials, said FBI Special Agent Jane Rhodes, an agency spokeswoman. Authorities said that when agents determined there was no Dr. Edmond Backer and found out the company Bachner claimed to represent, EB Strategic Research, did not exist, they set up a 'controlled buy'. Neighbors who know Bachner and his wife said they were taken aback by his arrest. He faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted, according to the FBI. Tetrodotoxin is so potent the U.S. Food and Drug Administration says it can 'produce rapid and violent death'. It is 1,200 times deadlier than cyanide, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Puffer fish, called fugu in Japan, is consumed by thrill-seeking gourmets once the poison is removed. Eating the toxin can cause paralysis, vomiting, heart failure and death.

War of the worms erupts

A ROW between feuding neighbours opened a whole can of worms.
Creepy crawly ... a centipede
The men in Malaysia had such an angry exchange, one unleashed centipedes in his opponent's bed, reports say. And now a court has charged the man over the alleged creepy crawly offence. The 21-year-old defendant, named in reports as R Prabakaran, pleaded not guilty in the court in Johor Baru city. He was charged with attempting to cause harm with a dangerous weapon in the bed of his neighbour, K Rajama, 30, last Friday. It was not clear what species the centipedes were. Some can be poisonous. If found guilty, Prabakaran faces up to three years prison and a caning.

You got a crush on my missus?

Well not any more! JILTED plant hire boss Martyn Wright took revenge on a love rival – by destroying his car with a 13-ton digger. Wright, 30, turned Anthony Simpson’s Toyota Land Cruiser into a heap of metal. He went berserk after discovering risque text messages from childhood friend Simpson, 22, on his partner Linda’s mobile. Yesterday he was given a conditional discharge after admitting criminal damage, but said: “I’ve no regrets about it – he deserved it.” District Judge Liz Harte told him at Chesterfield Magistrates Court, Derbys: “I have listened carefully to the circumstances in which this offence was committed.” Wright, of Hartington – who is now back with Linda – said: “I’ve known Simpson for 15 years. This is something you just don’t do to your mates.”

Aston thriller

FOR Your Eyes Only — this is the supercar even James Bond can’t get his hands on. This pic shows the £1.2million Aston Martin One-77 — the world’s most expensive motor. Aston will make just 77 — giving it its name — and only a handful of the 100 registered potential buyers and Aston staff have seen it. Buyers must put down a £200,000 deposit for the car, which overtakes the Bugatti Veyron as the most expensive available. It has a seven-litre V12 engine, does 0-62 mph in under 4 seconds and hits speeds over 200mph. Owners will work with designers to customise the interior before it is hand-built by craftsmen next year. Bond settles for Aston’s current flagship model, the DBS, in Quantum of Solace, which opens tomorrow.

Do not mess with Fish 29

And you thought fish were fun! well this cat did not! Cat detective meets a fishy end,
You've heard of sniffer dogs, but what about a sniffer cat? Police in Russia have been using a feline crime fighter called Rusik to help them sniff out fish smugglers near the Caspian Sea. But now Rusik has met a tragic end - he was run over and killed by a car. But the police think there's something a bit fishy about his death. The car that ran him over had been used by smugglers in the past. Sturgeon smuggling is big business because the eggs from the fish are used to make the expensive food called caviar. Rusik's skill at sniffing out hidden fish was so good that he had replaced the local sniffer dog. The cat detective walked into a police station a year ago as a stray kitten. The staff quickly adopted him, feeding him on scraps of fish confiscated from smugglers. Most of the world's caviar comes from the Caspian Sea. And because there's so much money to be made, the sturgeon has been hunted to the brink of extinction.

Ravens to stave off credit curse

FOUR extra ravens are being drafted into the Tower of London because of the financial crisis — to prevent a 350-year-old curse coming true.
Raven master at the Tower of London.
King Charles II decreed there must be at least six ravens otherwise a disaster would strike the nation and the Royal Family. And up to now, bosses have kept just one spare bird in residence to act as a “super sub”. But with the UK facing credit crunch meltdown, they ruled an extra four must now be acquired.

Two six-month-old birds Gundolf and Hugine have just arrived and are about to complete their four-week quarantine period. Another two will be delivered next week.
Raven Master Derrick Coyle, 64, said: “I believe in the curse. It was said that if the number ever fell below six, the Tower would fall and great harm would befall the nation. We certainly feel more secure now.”
