Some pictures of Diana and Myself, where we now live and places around us, things that we find interesting, amusing or just plain weird!

Carnival Part Two
the costumes are now getting bigger,
if such a thing is possible,
pity the poor chap who has to carry it,
there was a break in the festivities, so time for a beer,
we also moved further down the road as that is where we wanted to go to get to the tube station, we past a few people in the front garden opposite who seemed to have dressed up for the occasion, they certainly seemed to be having a gay old time,
then the start of another dance troupe lead by a boom box lorry,
the whole group were a riot of color,
there were many Ohs! and Ahs! coming from over the road,
then La Triniy 2010 hove into view,
with lots more dancers,
keeping up the samba beat,
Paraiso was next, unfortunately there were no programs to find out which group was from which country,
but it must have been hot in that,
but I guess quite cool in that,
this group had more than 30 dancers all giving their best for the crowds,
another lady samba's past,
there were so many photographers they almost blocked the path of the procession,
and I could see why there were so many taking pictures,
and still they came,
then another giant float,
with this lady leading the way,
another riot of color winds its way along the street,
with every color of the rainbow,
some themed in white and orange,
then blue and green,
next red and yellow,
next float a winged Phoenix rising from the flames, well that is what I think it looks like,
what do you think?
a wave to the crowd,
then this lady gave the crowd a lovely dance,
followed by another float,
then back to the dance groups,
I almost thought this was Nelson, but the Brazilian flags must mean it is not,
the dancers looking a little more military for this group,
another lady giving her best,
more from the Brazilian float go past,
and more dancers,
I am still not sure who he is supposed to be, next time we go to the Brazilian restaurant in Pattaya I will have to ask,
this dancer leading some more military types,
manly guys but they played well in what must have been very difficult circumstances with the crowds here,
then more dancers show everyone the samba beat,
another riot of color,
and another bird themed float,
with an extravagant headdress,
then the float was gone and it was time to head off,
but first some sweet corn to nibble on, then onward to Covent Garden.
