It Has Happened Again!

once more my computer is playing up,

my computer is not speaking to my camera or vice versa so waiting for the computer guy to call again, also my back up external drive which is less than a year old has failed, so that has been taken away for repair,

also the new Blogger program has decided that I can no longer 'drag & drop' imported pictures so I can not up date old postings, the good news is that we caught up on some DVD's that we had brought back with us, although some are old but enjoyable, first The Day the Earth Caught Fire, hysterical panic has engulfed the world after the United States and the Soviet Union simultaneously detonate nuclear devices and have caused the orbit of the Earth to alter, sending it hurtling towards the sun, all that and a drunk reporter!

then to the update of the 1930's comic strip, Flash Gordan who is a football hero and is skyjacked aboard Dr. Zarkov's rocket ship along with beautiful Dale Arden only to cross swords with Ming the Merciless,

Dr. Meacham is chosen along with others by the inhabitants of the planet Metaluna to do research that will help save their dying planet, however, an evil scheme is uncovered by the suspecting Dr. Meacham when he discovers the Metalunan's plan to take over Earth, oh no the earth taken over again! but all is well at the end of This Island Earth, I can not help thinking the aliens from this film inspired the ones in Mars Attacks!

the next few we watched were a little more up to date, Wild Wild West being the first, great special effects and a catchy hit tune I seem to remember, but back to the film, Jim West is a guns-a-blazing former Civil War hero, Artemus Gordon is an inventive U.S. Marshal who excels in disguise, when the United States is threatened by psychotic Confederate Arliss Loveless both marshals spring into action,

next the ¡Three Amigos! as the tag line says They're Down On Their Luck And Up To Their Necks In Senoritas, Margaritas, Banditos And Bullets! but the plot starts when silent film stars Lucky Day, Dusty Bottoms and Ned Nederlander get fired, they take a job offer from Mexico, doing a show with El Guapo, supposedly the most famous actor there, traveling there in hope of getting good money, they arrive only to learn soon that El Guapo is not an actor, but a cruel gang leader suppressing people, and then the fun begins!

then a more up date DVD in terms of both being made and the story line, WALL.E, in a distant, but not so unrealistic future, where mankind has abandoned earth because it has become covered with trash from products sold by the powerful multi-national Buy N Large corporation, WALL-E, a garbage collecting robot has been left to clean up the mess, when another robot appears, it is love at first exchange of data, great DVD I guess more for kids, which is why I enjoyed it so, we watched these and a few more in the few days we have been back, as soon as the camera and computer are back on speaking terms I will post the picture of what we have been doing since we arrived back in Thailand.
