I Had My First Day Out Since The Onset Of Gout,

I managed to squeeze into my canvas shoes, so off to Friendship we sped, some fresh fruit and other supplies were purchased, then back to ease my now swollen foot out of my shoes, feet or I should say foot up and let the DVD's commence! first Dante's Peak, the name of the town that won second prize in the most desirable place to live with a population of under 20,000 in America, que town placed number three get ready to move up one! for me a good though predictable story line with surprisingly good special effects, a sort of mini disaster movie as it only hit one town,
then the one that started it all Terminator, we watched one and two, Judgement Day, both disaster movies again, humankind lives, but not as we know it Jim! we bought the box set of 4 so we have two more to watch, but we should have waited for the release of Terminators 5 & 6 so we could have had the box set of sextuplets!
then another from the Hitchcock box Shadow of Doubt, Uncle Charlie comes back to visit his sister and her family in a typical small American town, cash flush he holds a sinister secret in his hands, great direction and story line for its time,
for our last of the evening we open up the Tales Of The Unexpected box, all 116 of them written by Roald Dahl, a gifted and prolific writer, his stories always have a twist, take for instance the first one we watched, The Man From The South, imagine in your youth when you were just starting work and you were poor you had say, a lighter, that always worked, never let you down, even in the strongest winds, whilst offering a light to an obviously wealthy stranger he gave you a bet, he bet his brand new Jaguar car that your lighter would not light for 10 consecutive times in a windless room, you know the bet is safe, your prised possession has never let you down, but what could you bet him him with? you have no money, no assets, nothing, well how about something you hardly ever or even never use, your little finger? you win the bet the car is yours, you lose and your finger is chopped of with a kitchen clever, would you take the bet, well would you? then off to bed.
