I have to be at the hospital for my 08.00 appointment,
so we were off to breakfast at the Surf Kitchen at the bottom of Soi 5,
there is always a nice display of orchids here,
many in flower,
the owner then pointed out that a new display had just been planted,
so I had too take a picture of those,
as well as flowers there are a few water features, making it nice to sit outside under the huge trees that tower over the restaurant,
breakfast was severed, a ice chocolate for Diana with a club sandwich,
an ice coffee and prawn salad for myself,
we stopped at the market that is at the top of Soi 5 that immigration is on, this is an everyday covered over market, unlike the ones in Soi Bukaow which are there only on Tuesday and Friday, or the weekend night market,
this is the shrine that is opposite it,
there are a few stalls selling prepared foods on the outside,
but inside all of the stalls sell only fresh items,
at the start of the market,
the stalls sell fresh fruit,
then vegetables, as you go further in the stalls change to selling fresh fish, then meat,
I should have mentioned also at the front of the market there is a stall selling flowers,
these for placing on household shrines,
arriving home after a rest we watched television in the afternoon, then some films starting with The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, we have watched it before, this is what I wrote then, 'if you like Terry Gilliam's work this is a must for you, the basic premise is that a travelling show in London allows people to walk through a magic mirror into Doctor Parnassus's mind, the Imaginarium, it is pretty confusing in there, well he is 1,000 years old! then the adventures begin, great surreal effects, costumes and players, the film also has a star studded cast, a pleasure to watch again', and it was,
after a coffee or two Stardust was next, keeping to a fantasy theme, we again had watched it before and this is what I wrote then, 'it was brilliant! none stop special effects, a great story, cast, script, you name it, the pirates were beyond excellent, especially when Captain Shakespeare's secret was out, so many laugh out loud lines for both of us, not of course to every ones taste, but for us priceless!', and with such a neat ending,
after our evening meal and watching the best unbiased news service
in the world, news program Al Jazeera, (please do not let the name put you off), it
was feet up with a bit of sadness, we watched the last two episodes of
Bones, so we will have to wait until series 9 hits the shelves to solve
the ultimate mystery, then for us off to bed.
