As A Teenager,

I dabbled with wine making,

and being stuck inside with not a lot else to think about, I remembered how easy it was, moving on I looked at the possibility of making my own rum, I guess some sort of still would be needed, not sure about the above in the kitchen though! but this method is apparently just as good

1: Make Your Wash
Simply add 6kg of granulated sugar to 21 litres of water at 30°C, along with a sachet of Triple Distilled Yeast and a sachet of Turbo Carbon. Allow to ferment for 7 days. When finished you will have a 14% ABV wash ready to be distilled.

2: Distill Your Spirit
Once you have cleared your wash with Turbo Clear, it is ready to go through the still. Using the Air Still you can distill 4 litres of wash at a time, producing 700-800ml of spirit at approximately 60% ABV.

3: Mix & Enjoy!
Dilute your 60% spirit down to 40% ABV with water, following our handy guide. This will produce just over 7 litres. Then add your choice of Still Spirits essence, mix well, and sit back and enjoy both the fantastic quality and the savings,

it all seems so simple, if the above video is anything to go by, there must be a catch!, and there is, I just found it,

It is illegal to manufacture spirits in the UK without a distiller's licence which is required under the provisions of section 12 of the Alcoholic Liquor Duties Act 1979 and this includes manufacture for "own/domestic use".
Public Notice 39 - "Spirits production in the UK" dated July 2006 provides further information about HM Revenue & Customs' requirements.

I thought it seemed to good to be true!
