Although It Was Sunday,

Diana was asked to go into work,

so for myself it was feet up for some television until she returned, firstly a couple of documentaries, starting with Being Napoleon, it is about a reenactment of the Battle of Waterloo, with as the title suggests some one being Napoleon, but two people are vying for the role, the documentary a tad too long, but it was fascinating to see how seriously some people take reenactments,

a second documentary, Downfall: The Case Against Boeing, I had read about the film, and as it happens Steve sent me a link to the film, it made for grim viewing, the way that Boeing treated its staff and customers after giving up safty for money,

next a change of pace with Doom, a sci-fi horror that takes place on Mars, having played the game so many years ago. I expected the film to be a lot more scary but there it is, after that Diana arrived home,

after a coffee and a chat it was time for a sherry and a read,

onto the wine, 'Cheers!',

we went for a main course, a pasta dish for Diana with curly chips,

for myself a steak,

eyes down and tuck in,

for dessert a sticky toffee pudding with lots of cream,

for our late night film The Forgotten Battle, as war films go this was one of the better ones, as far as realism is concerned, the film is about the Battle of the Scheldt, in World War II there were a series of military operations led by the First Canadian Army, with Canadian, Polish and British units attached, to open up the shipping route to Antwerp so that its port could be used to supply the Allies in north-west, although the story is told through the perspective of 3 different people, as war films go I have to say it was very good and with the end of that we were off to bed.
