to go fishing,
and before I had tackled up Nick was into a fish!
so I gave a hand with the landing net,
and a nice sized fish it was to,
the only problem being it was one of the fish that are not good eating,
so after unhooking it back it went,
we had picked up Nick and Maureen in the morning,
along with Ta-Taa,
1-0 to Nick,
the worse thing was Diana had not eaten any breakfast, we had orders to catch a fish that was eatable quickly so it could be cooked, the kitchen here cooks them with garlic that we all love, but it was not to be, so Diana could not wait any longer, as she was hungry she ordered chicken fried rice,
then, you guessed it, half way through her meal I caught a tilipia,
the fish that Diana wanted,
before her meal of chicken fried rice was finished,
she was off to the kitchen to get the fish cooked,
one of the nice things about fishing is looking at some of the wildlife that comes by,
occasionally a dragonfly will use the rod tip to survey his domain,
in the distance we could hear the sound of thunder and rain clouds were forming in the sky,
the fish then arrived,
you can not get fresher than that!
Nick caught another one, he also caught one on my rod as I was making a phone call, so 3-1 to Nick,
then the rain started,
which was quite unusual January,
the sun then shone through the clouds,
the thunder storm had been going for over an hour,
then even though the sun was shinning the heavens really opened up, it poured down,
once the rain had stopped one of the local cats decided to call round,
but it was not too sure about Ta-Taa, so that is how we finished the day 3-1 to Nick, if you fancy a bit of fishing we were at the Mamak Fishing Park,
rods and reels can be hired and bait is always available,
to find it go along Soi Nub Plan Wan, (spelt as it sounds), which is the Soi that runs parallel to Soi Siam Country Club, for a couple of miles, as you near the bottom of a slight hill you will notice a large pink building called the Pussy Cat on the left, opposite there is a Soi go along that, it does get a bit narrow but keep on it and you will see the fishing park,
then back to Nick and Maureen's,
their pool is crystal clear,
with just a few small leaves on the surface that Diana cleaned away,
Maureen had prepared a feast for us,
there were a few crackers left from Christmas,
so we had top pull them to celebrate the first fishing trip of the year,
when is a boat and snow the same?
when it is adrift!
or when is a door not a door?
when it is ajar! bom-bom!
after our meal we had ice cream,
or cheese and biscuits,
then the serious part of the evening Monopoly! try as I might I could not buy any properties, the dice were not nice to me, but the winner for the evening was Maureen, so congratulations and a huge thank you to Nick and Maureen for looking after us so well, we then made a move for home watched a new episode of How To Catch A Smuggler then as it was late we were off to bed.
