I was out,
into a grey cloudy day,
yet again the bus stops closed due to road works, it was only a couple of months ago that the same piece of road was torn up,
so a walk to the stop outside of Marks & Spencer's,
the road works making the traffic bad,
on top of the bus, it crawled along,
the traffic lights that are always here letting just one vehicle through at a time,
because of the road work traffic lights further along,
at last,
the same hole, no one working on it of course,
and then more road works! this time at the bottom of Beckenham Hill,
thankfully we were soon speeding past the Catford cat,
and the building work that never seems to be finished,
Lewisham market up and running,
in Blackheath the flower shop open,
on the other side of the door,
some peppers,
next door no staff in the railway station,
and downstairs at the platform, back to the bad old days, no trains to Gravesend,
so a change and a 20 minute wait at Dartford,
still it gave me time to look at the pond by the station,
arriving at Gravesend, Alan was waiting,
he kindly picked me up so we could both visit Duncan, who was in great sprits, we chatted the morning away until about 1.00 in the afternoon, when his lunch arrived after saying our farewells,
Alan dropped me off again at the station, where this time the train continued past Dartford to Blackheath,
on the number 54 bus I noticed that the flower beds,
by Lewisham hospital were still waiting for their winter flowers,
I stayed on the bus past the entrance to the park,
and the green,
alighting here at Superdrug, I wanted to pick up some Vick's Vapour Rub, we were getting swamped by spiders and I read one way to expel them was to use the rub on window frames as they do not like the rub,
next into Lidl, I was getting low on wine and rum, we also needed some milk,
inside these looked nice, they were called Halloween Kalanchoe, the price seemed reasonable at £2.99,
a nice display of cut flowers to,
I caught a 354 home alighting at the cricket club,
and walked through the grounds and past the tennis courts home,
Diana had beaten me home, and had prepared our meal, so first a read and a sherry, 'Cheers!',
followed by chicken liver pate with sourdough bread, sliced tomatoes and red skin onions,
for our meal a huge piece of salmon with sautéed peppers and courgettes, plus mashed potatoes,
another 'Cheers!',
as Diana had a early start again tomorrow she had a early night, for myself it was a fantasy adventure, Snow White and the Huntsman, the story of Snow White, the wicked Queen, magic mirror and the seven dwarfs, a huge fantasy film and a film with special effects from start to finish, very enjoyable to watch again after which I too was off to bed.
