Nick and Maureen called in first as they were in town,
so we had a drink and a chat,
it was so hot for her Ta-Taa had a bowl of iced water,
literally minuets after they left Mark called by, so we had a chat about stamps amongst other things,
then another fried, Alex, called by so we had more than a few rounds of tea and coffee,
although called the Coco Resort,
the restaurant is called Momento, specialising in French cuisine, plus Italian and Thai, it is rated as one of the three best restaurants in Pattaya on tripadvisor,
as you enter the restaurant is on the right with the pool on the left,
and nice and clean it looked too,
we were quiet early about 6.00 in the evening so we had the place to ourselves,
Alex also said we should try the Ceasar salad, so Diana ordered a small one,
yes this is the 95 baht small salad, by the time Diana finished it she did not want a main course!
then my mixed seafood salad arrived, like Diana's salad it was huge,
meanwhile I had ordered the mixed meat kebab, also the option of French fries,
the kebab consisted of a mixture of duck, chicken and beef, with onions and tomatoes between each, it is bigger than it looks! 'Cheers!',
then home, feet up, a glass of wine and watch a few DVDs,
followed by The Magician's Nephew, Jean Wildacre is killed on stage during a magic show, she was a member of an occult group headed by imperious Ernest Balliol, Balliol and a former colleague in the group Aloysius Wilmington have long been at odds as both are anxious to locate a priceless antique book, believed to be somewhere on Aloysius's premises, more murders follow, I chose one then after she was found innocent another suspect which was also incorrect, Diana, before I made my first choice was proven correct in naming the murderer, back to school for me!
as an aside for me what was interesting was the poison used, it was the toxin found on the back of poison arrow (or dart) frogs, (Dendrobates spp and Phyllobates spp), over the years we have sold many vivariums to keepers of these fascinating creatures, one of the problems is supply food for them, so if you keep these frogs you have to breed lots of Drosophila funebris, commonly known as the fruit or vinegar fly, which naturally spread around the house, well to over come this a wingless variety was developed, so you would have thought that getting these small flies invading the house would be over, but not so, as one frog keeper told me, 'the flies can not fly, but boy can they walk!', then for us off to bed.
