West Sussex county council placed 6 life like sheep on the A27 road junction at Shoreham,
as part of a sponsorship deal promoting the South Downs National Park, but they alarmed drivers so much that the council decided to paint them green,
but further complaints have now forced the council to pen them off as they are today, in case motorists think that the green sheep could stray on to the road, each sheep has its own enclosure, locally the decision has become a topic of heated debate, with forum users like this one with the name Oldbean stating, 'personally I think it's terrible they've been penned in like that', while user Bluecrush said a campaign called 'free the Sheep' should be started,
for me paint them in a life like colour and put a nice rustic sheep pen round them, but I guess that would be too easy.
