I called in at a fruit stall,
I quiet like plum mango's, locally called Maprang, but the local market had not had any for a week or so,
but they had some here for 100 baht a kilo, there are basically two types, sweet or sour, both nice for Diana and myself,
also they had a selection of green mangoes,
and bananas, so I bought a bunch of those as well,
on the way back I called in to see Mark for a cup of tea or two,
outside his house the tree was in flower,
not just one or two flowers but many strands of flowers hanging down,
they looked so nice, the problem if you can call it that is the fruit/seeds are inedible, which is a shame as this year it would have been a bumper crop!
when I pop in to see Mark we normally sit outside in this bamboo house, it is quiet pleasant sipping tea watching the world go by,
after our evening meal and a few episodes of Kings of Restoration and Pickers we settled down to watch The Last Mimzy, two children go to Whidbey Island to spend a couple of days while their workaholic father David Wilder is working, they find a box of toys from the future in the water and bring it home, and Emma finds a stuffed rabbit called Mimzy, then the adventure begins, a good kids fantasy adventure, which I guess explains why we both liked it,
on the other hand North & South is a gritty drama/love story, which I bought for Diana but I found I liked it as well, so much so that at gone 01.00 in the morning we watched another episode of it!, the story is of a young woman from a southern middle class family who finds herself uprooted to the north, and a formerly poverty-stricken cotton mill owner terrified of losing the viability of his business, set against the background of strikes and hardship, as an aside at this time many mills took on the look of small garrisons, with mill owners using deadly force from their mills to protect their property from their workers when on strike, not to mention the Luddite movement, with that we were off to bed.
