The Cheque That Started It All,

all being Superman, Wonder Woman, Spider-Man, X-Men,

or any of the other characters that came into existence after the concept of the superhero was born with Superman, for this is the cheque that DC Comics paid to Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster for the rights of all of the above, it was thought to have been lost forever but now, thanks to the foresight of a DC employee, fans are scrambling to make it their own as it goes up for auction on ComicConnect.com,

opinion has been split as to whether DC were the villains in this story, taking advantage of two eager young artists, or whether the corporation was simply and fairly exercising a shrewd eye for potential, ever since the money was handed over, efforts have worn on to claw back the hero Mr Siegel and Mr Shuster created as teenagers in 1930s Ohio, the duo died in the 1990s, but their heirs have taken up the fight - most recently against Warner Bros and DC over the 2013 film Man of Steel,

but back to the cheque, bidding opened at $1 yesterday and jumped to $20,500 within hours, with the hammer due to fall on April 16, I wonder how much it will eventually realise?
