Win Some, Lose Some,

some good news of a win situation for Anthony Steele,

after sending his parents a letter stating they could face a £2,500 fine if a flag in their garden was not removed East Lindsey Council yesterday said it could be hoisted back up — blaming its original ruling on government planning rules, good Lord, common sense from a council! wonders will never cease! I mentioned the case here,

but then Warwickshire County Council let the side down, for five years a 90 minuet weekly 'Coffee and Play' morning run for Mums with toddlers aged up to 18 months has been meeting, in that time and no toddler has ever been injured, but hold on, lets see the jobsworths take on this, call in Warwickshire County Council, hot drinks like coffee have now been banned, volunteers have been ordered to change the name of the Friday morning sessions from 'Coffee and Play' to just 'Baby Play', biscuits have also been replaced by healthy snacks including fruit and bread sticks,

I can imagine the scene when Mums have come to the meeting in the cold, wet, rain or snow in winter, 'would you like a nice cup of cold water', what a load of nonsense! one young mother, who did not want to be named, said: 'the hot drinks were never served in a cup or a mug, they were served in what I regard as a 'no spill plastic safety cup' with a lid, they were almost like flasks, with a very small opening, everyone is just a bit disappointed',

children's centres across Warwickshire can now only serve hot drinks if they are in a separate area from the toddlers, Mum-of-two Sue Turner, 30, from Stratford-upon-Avon, Warks., said, 'what the council are saying is if a parent wants a cuppa they must turn their back on their child and walk across to another area of the children's centre to make it and drink it', way to go Warwickshire County Council, make it council policy to leave children potentially unattended, mum-of-three Candida Hillman, 40, who has used the centre for four years, branded the ban 'ludicrous', 'parents used to be able to have a hot drink with them while they watched their kids play but now they have to walk into a different room',

naturally yesterday the council defended the ban, Vicky Kersey, children's centre officer at the council, said: 'to minimise any risk of scalding a child we have introduced a hot drinks policy at all of the county's children's centres', so I guess to minimise the risk even further Warwickshire County Council will install spy cameras in every home, to make sure hot drinks are not served in parents homes as well!
