We Were Up Early,

and off fishing,

we picked up Nick and Maureen on our way to the fishing park,

 we had only just arrived,

and I was into my first fish,

and with the help of Nick the fish was landed,

unfortunately it was one of the fish that are so full of small bones that they are not nice to eat,

so back the fish went, things then died down, so I took a few pictures of the pond,

 clear blue skies,

 it was so hot,

after a few hours we had still not caught a fish we could eat, so Diana ordered some food,

chicken fried rice with an egg,

as usual there were a few dragonflies near us,

so I zoomed in on this one,

behind us I spotted this ginger plant, (Heliconia wagneriana),

 the flowers are so strange,

 and brightly coloured,

I made my way back to our hut for the day,

all of the huts were renewed when the new road was finished,

still no fish, all afternoon the dragonflies had been having territorial battles,

this one with now tattered wings, victor or vanquished?

the sad thing was we never caught another fish, so the score finished 1-0 to me, this is the parks map, if you want to spend a day at the Mamak fishing park, it is off of Soi Nub Plan Wan, (spelt as it sounds), turn into the Soi from Sumkivitt, over the railway crossing and continue for a couple of miles, the road starts to go downhill, near the bottom of it you will see the road the fishing park is on the right hand side, follow that for a while, it twists and turns a bit and the fishing park is on the left next to a soccer ground, there are rods and tackle for hire and bait to buy, plus a fridge full of beer!

arriving back at Nick and Maureen house Nick cooked a delicious chicken vindaloo,

followed by cheese and biscuits, then a surprise, he had also baked a strawberry cream sponge,

so it was eyes down and tuck in, the diet starts tomorrow!

then the serious part of the evening Monopoly, with our custom board, I hate to say it, I won, in record time,

so we had a second game, I won that as well, you can imagine the good humoured comments that were flying around! 3 times we have played on the new board and three times I have won, who knows what will happen next time? we thanked Nick and Maureen for their hospitality and made a move for home, then it was feet up for a few programmes from TMN, one Take on the Twister and we were off to bed.
