Although I Like Music,

I am not really into modern groups,

however Diana just loves South Korean pop groups, some performing K-pop, the genre has really taken the world by storm in recent years, with groups like BTS and Black Pink conquering market after market with their catchy songs and energetic dance routines, the genre has become one of South Korea’s main exports, generating tens of billions in revenue, so here is the latest K-pop group that you might be interested in, an all girl 11 strong group, called Eternity, a strange name, does that mean they will last forever?

the group consists of Yeoreum, Seoa, Sujin, Minji, Jaein, Hyejin, Dain, Chorong, Jiwoo, Sarang and Yejin,

and here they are in action, but there is something slightly different about this group, they will in fact last forever, never growing old or suffering from any illness, they were all created using advanced deep-fake technology, created in 2021 by South Korean deep learning tech company Pulse9, Eternity has been described as a glimpse into the future of K-pop, a future where the entertaining genre is no longer held back by the limitations of human idols. “The business we are making with Eternity is a new business. I think it’s a new genre,” Park Jieun, CEO of Pulse9, told the BBC. “The advantage of having virtual artists is that, while K-pop stars often struggle with physical limitations, or even mental distress because they are human beings, virtual artists can be free from these.” To create Eternity, Pulse9 started out by generating 101 female faces using Deep Real AI, a proprietary deep-fake virtual imaging technology, based on four main traits: cute, sexy, innocent, and intelligent, thanks to Pulse9’s advanced deep-fake tech, the singers’ faces can be projected onto the faces of actual girls, allowing the group members to appear even more real during live chats, videos, and online fan meets, but AI technology still has a way to go, the voices of Eternity’s members are not A.I., the voices of actual singers are used, artificial intelligence apparently is not advanced enough to mimic human singers consistently, it all seems a bit weird to me, but then I am not into modern pop culture.

Dear Stanley and Diana
We just watched YouTube-Christmas with David Bowie and Bing Crosby. Imagine if they were born within the computer vs real life where they grow and develop different styles and focus during their careers,..like the Beatles , progressing through all the various stages like Elton John, Clapton Etc. Nice deal with real people is you never know who they will become next. I guess they can change the computer created personally for each of the cast members and make a progression but not believable vs real folks.,
Other area is the raw talent-surprisingly gifted folks continue to drive music boundaries to the edge, just like your lesser known 50cent CDS. All enjoyable and a new experience. I guess I like “organic” real people performing vs the exact computer without fault. Pink Floyd would suffer if computer generated…the real deal with the faults are what we love about each group..all more talented than I could ever imagine. Hats off to real artists!!!
Regards
John and Alley

Dear John and Alley, seeing some of the advances in AI., plus the amazing special effects in some films, I really do sometimes have to ask where is all of this going? I guess the only way in the future to know if it is actually a real singe/actor is to wait for the messy divorce! although I guess a competent script writer could manufacture those into the created artists AI world if you see what I mean, I for myself the only way in the future to know if you idol is real or not is go to a live concert, and stand as close as you can to the stage! best regards for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Stan and Diana.
