Great News,

it is Diana's day off,

the bad news, we will be going out first thing so only one post today, back to Wednesday, again first thing blog posted and I was out into a cold, bright day,

on to a steamed up number 54 bus,

and past Peter Pan's Pool,

and the Lewisham one way system,

the upline trains at Blackheath station had just left for London,

no through trains to day, so a change at Dartford,

off of the train at Gravesend, looking across the station from the bus stand where I caught a 483,

off of the 483 and a walk up the hill,

to the entrance to the nursing home where Duncan stays,

clear skies over the home,

as we were chatting away,

this little chap called by for some peanuts, Duncan was in good sprits, wide awake when I called in, we talked about our times in Pattaya and Singapore, it is a shame that I do not have photographs of the times we spent together,

as his lunch arrived we said our farewells, and I started walking towards the bus stop,

past the apple tree at the entrance to the home,

off of the bus at Gravesend station and a wait at platform 0,

for the train that this time did run thorough to Blackheath, so no changing trains at Dartford,

onto the number 54 bus, approaching Lewisham,

the new paving in the town,

being laid,

in the distance,

lots of paving slabs to go!

at the garden opposite Lewisham hospital,

the flower beds planted, but not much growth yet,

in Catford on this building,

the biggest wisteria I have ever seen, it will look so nice when it flowers, a bit dark for the occupants though,

this bee garden,

looking good,

I stayed on the number 54 bus and past the entrance to the park where we live,

a quick wait at the traffic lights,

and past the green,

all at this end of the Travelodge finished,

not so at the other end of the building the entrance still not finished,

in the distance a pub I used to frequent when it was called the Three Tuns,

at the war memorial the building behind it taking shape with its extra floors,

I called into Kingfisheries, to drop off some plastic bags and printing I had done for the shop,

on the way home I called into Boots to pick up my bi-monthly prescription,

then into the park, past the snail mail box and home,

just in time for a read and a sherry,

for tonight a lamb hot pot,

'Cheers!',

I then watched a film we had watched before, and this is what I wrote then:

'if like us you enjoyed the Mummy films and the previous Scorpion King 1 & 2 and you are expecting The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption to be in the same league be prepared to be disappointed, I know we were, all through the film we kept saying it could not get any worse, but it did, I mostly give a link to the International Movie Data Base site but I do not take account of the films rating when I write about it, but I have to say the rating of 3.6 out of 10 is the lowest I can ever remember seeing being given to a film on the site, all I can say is that I am surprised it was as high as that, avoid at all costs!' it had not improved with the passage of time!, next,

I followed that with Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, based on the writings of Daniel Handler, writing under the pen name Lemony Snicket, who is the New York Times award winning author of the immensely popular young readers’ series, A Series of Unfortunate Events, since the release of the first title in the series in 1999, more than 70 million copies of the thirteen volume series have been sold, in case you have not read the books, seen the film or the Netflix series the story is about Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire who are three intelligent young children who receive terrible news that their parents have died in a fire and have left them an enormous fortune not to be used until the eldest child is of age, when they are sent to live with Count Olaf, who naturally wants their inheritance, we had watched the film before and it was as enjoyable as watching the first time, after which Diana returned home she was working a extra late shift, so after a coffee and a chat we were off to bed.
